Large-scale Peer to Peer networks require servers to manage the connections. P2P networks are much cheaper then dedicated servers so I can't imagine Activision shutting them down (until MS and Sony shut down their old networks) or they would have shut them down a long time ago. You can still play COD2 online on your 360, and that game is going to be 10 this year. Heck, when Nintendo shut down their online network for the Wii and DS, Activision didn't turn their system off so you can still play those COD games online.

Using a paladin with the 105mm cannon on Recovery is really fun. If you use it when the map changes over you can bombard the enemy with impunity as there is no where to hide thanks to splash damage on the cannon.

If I wanted to grind ten different currencies/faction reps, I'd open Google Play on my phone and download F2P games; not spend sixty+ dollars. Serious answer: Halo-style shooting just hasn't felt good since ODST.

Or play COD since that could be said about prestiges and weapon unlocks. The hate is weird though since my party chat screen is littered with Destiny parties. It reminds me of that screenshot of the steam group calling for a boycott of whatever game and mostly everybody in the group was playing said game.

Prestiging in CoD is a choice, and not required to reach the maximum level. Nor do you need random drops to get there. In Destiny, it's a requirement to reach the top.

I don't hate the poo poo out of it per se, but I'm terribly disappointed in the lack of any personal narrative like in Mass Effect, or Contra style weapon types. It's the same problem I have with Borderlands, but more so. Having to go online to read back story (and silent protagonists) is lazy and miserly as gently caress.
