firefox keeps freezing up for like a minute at a time, and it seems to be related to the shockwave flash plugin. in good old opera 12, you could check a box for "load plugins only on demand". is there a way to do that in firefox?

got a friend who's looking to be able to restrict access to USB devices in a weird way. they want to be able to use the device (say, for example, a usb webcam), but disable the ability to change properties on it, like sound settings, etc... i'm sure there's a way to lock it down via GPO but i'm at a loss. anyone know of any possibilities?

i'm thinking of copying my nas4free install from a 7200rpm platter drive to a usb 2.0 flash drive i don't really have a sense which is faster, is usb 2 flash memory faster than a sata 7200rpm platter drive? does it even matter for something like nas4free?

those free NAS things normally just load an image into RAM and then run from that, so boot media speed doesn't matter unless you're turning it on and off constantly

Linode is another competitor or you could go with a bigger dedicated box from someone like kimsufi for 5-10 euros a month

ill grab digital ocean, thank your for suggestions guys. ec2 was somewhat confusing when i used it last time. linode seems to be a tiny bit better than ocean, for my plans, but the point when it does is years away, if ever, and i am not eager to pay unnecessary extra for that long
