If it was being shoved in my face constantly, I could see it being annoying. But I don't seek that sort of thing out on tumblr or wherever, so the only time I'm reminded about it is when someone brings it here to SA so they can complain about it.

Decided to watch through Over the Garden Wall based on the discussion on the last page and man, what a show. Story-wise it was something that would fit right in my old battered copy of Grimm's Fairy Tales, and the animation, VA work, and score were just incredible. Obviously it's not something for everyone, and is very different thematically from Gravity Falls, but it is definitely something that deserves to be watched to the end.

Somebody I followed for Gravity Falls art posted Bipper porn - instant unfollow. I'm not even going to blacklist it so I can see their other stuff (which you could certainly do if it's just general shipper talk that annoys you), because there's nothing else they could possibly post that would make up for drawing porn of a twelve year old. But there's also no point in me coming to this thread yelling "GUYS I JUST SAW THE MOST TERRIBLE THING, GRAVITY FALLS FANS ARE THE WORST". Get it off your dashboard and move on.

The only time I saw legit porn was when I first heard about this show and looked it up only to find those pictures already up front on the google search bar. Other than that, not too bad. But I don't really look up fan art from the show anyway.

Most of the people who have commented on not liking SU mention being put off by Steven's character in particular. Steven is a kid who acts like a kid. Yes, he becomes less grating as the show progresses, provided you cut him some slack for being a kid. Everything else about the show is amazing, though, particularly once the overarching plot starts picking up.

Everything else about the show is amazing, though, particularly once the overarching plot starts picking up. Very true. "Giant Woman" is one of the best and worst episodes of the series at the same time, because it has Opal, but it also has Steven being nonstop annoying for the first five minutes. I like Steven Universe as much as Gravity Falls, which is saying a lot, so I recommend trying a few more episodes. The first episode in particular does not represent the show very well, IMO. Gravity Falls content: That line from the book is a bit of a stretch. It strikes me more as Mabel being pre-Love-God Matchmaker Mabel than anything else.

My main gripe with SU is that early on it treats a lot of basic information everyone in the show already knows (what are the gems, where's Stevens mom, what are the basic rules for gem powers, etc) like plot reveals and don't tell you much until pretty far into the show. It made it hard to connect to for a while (at least for me). That said, once it gets going and you get to know the cast it's pretty drat good.
