Finally caught back up to Operation PROM As impressive as the juggling act of Gargantua 2 was, this was probably the most emotionally powerful episode in the entire series. 21 finally realizes that 24 was in his head and not a ghost, which is devastating. Treister makes Gathers go back into the OSI and even hands it over to him because of his cancer. Hatred is reunited with Tinyfeet. Brock painfully loses Molotov but finds consolation in defending the Venture family. Dean wrestles with his crush for Triana, and despite losing her he finally stands up for himself. What a heartstring puller! Steve Yun fucked around with this message at 19:01 on Feb 5, 2015 |

I took it that Brock realized that the Ventures, Billy, Pete, Orpheus, etc. are his extended family, and them being in mortal danger scared him really badly. Luckily, Rusty's hosed up Spanish Fly both bought Brock enough time to arrive, and gave him something fun to kill. Edit: Though his priority in life, as of the special, is still hooking up with a 'flavor of the month' woman.

One thing I noticed in this rewatch is that Brock is often "in the closet" about caring for the Venture family. Sure, he proudly proclaims his love for them in Assassinanny, but almost every other time he acts like protecting the Ventures is "just a job" and he's hiding the fact that really he does care for them. Even when he's had sex with Amber Gold in the special, he's proudly showing her videos of Hank playing the bass he bought him, and when she remarks about how he's fawning over Hank he denies it. I always took the last part of Operation P.R.O.M. as Molotov bluffing like she did when she tricked Brock into think the OSI was trying to kill him. How would she know they were throwing a Prom they planned that day and that he would order hookers, also that day. Then again Rusty was getting shot down which lead to him busting out the Venture-Fly but I always kinda chocked that up to him being cheap. He cheaped out on all the sex related services and pretty much just paid to have girls at the party (like Jonas did to him lol). Then there was the fact that Molotov pulled a knife on one them after knocking Brock out. Did my memory make all that stuff up?

Around the 43 minute mark of the Operation P.R.O.M. commentary Doc Hammer says along the lines of, "They would all be dead if they didn't have a love potion to make these women not kill them". At first I thought Molotov was buffing as well during my first viewing but later realized it's just because the Spanish fly worked, until they turned into horrible fly mutants.

When Molotov pulled the knife on that escort, it was because she was neglecting her mission by fooling around with Brock. It's a good fakeout because you think Molotov is threatening a civilian. Also, all the escorts matched the BlackHearts that we see at the end of Family That Slays Together: - brown skinned girl with long braids - latina girl with straight long brown hair - white girl with short blonde hair (although cut differently) - black girl with mohawk (under a white wig at the prom) - black girl with straight medium hair - asian girl with bob They didn't kill the family at midnight because, before they were turned into genetic Brundleflies, the Spanish fly really did work as intended for a brief moment. Yeah, but c'mon, we're talking about 6 characters with the same skin color and almost the same hair, including one who had the same hair under a wig who all happen to be at the same place as Molotov when she claims that they're her BlackHearts. Coincidence! ***** Haha I didn't notice before but... assuming Rusty's Spanish Fly only works on women because it was designed to mutate vaginas: Triana storms out before Rusty makes it, Princess Tinyfeet had a ball gag so she couldn't drink, Molotov is busy kidnapping Monstroso, and Dr Girlfriend doesn't drink the punch because she thinks it smells suspicious. They thought of everything! This might even explain why that one escort was fooling around with Brock. Is this the first time we see Princess Tinyfeet with a ballgag? It would be hilarious if they wrote her being into S&M just because they needed an excuse to make her not drink the punch. Steve Yun fucked around with this message at 23:48 on Feb 5, 2015 |

No, I can't recall the episode but Hatred needs to break into his old house at some point and sees Tinyfeet in a bondage setup with another man (maybe one of his former henchmen?).
