But does Muir consider what is now central and eastern Turkey to be "European?" and if so, why bring up the Battle of Tours? More likely Muir is just happening to be a stopped clock and put together a Muir word salad in a way that actually sounded like a coherent statement without actually *saying* anything coherent.
