Welp. Decided to play again after the wipe. After scavenging for over an hour and barely finding anything, I died to a hacker who was teleporting and flying around loving with everybody. Glad they will never address that! gently caress this game.

Blazing Zero posted:they've posted that it is on. why is he a sperg for not wanting to be insta killed by teleporters? It's not on, I can guarantee you that much. At most they're doing what they did with PS2 -- back when I still played it -- which is track people based on stats & reports and investigate outliers; which is actually pretty effective and what GA did to completely get rid of cheaters. Of course, given the nature of H1Z1, even if they are doing this, it's likely far more difficult to pull off. P.S.: He's a sperg for thinking this will never be resolved, based on his experience playing an alpha. Not wanting to be insta-killed by teleporters is a perfectly reasonable stance but he didn't stop there. Liberatore fucked around with this message at 20:53 on Feb 7, 2015 |

If anything, it'll get worse when things go F2P, assuming they ever do. E: See: literally all the other survival games that struggle with this same issue.

This is the first MP zombie survival game I've spent any money on so I wasn't aware they were all made by highly incompetent idiots. In any case, if it isn't resolved, we can count H1Z1 among the several other dead games in the genre. But I still think an alpha is a bit too early to tell.

High population, I have to get lucky and kill a a few pubbies that have stuff, because finding loot is rare. Problem is that stuff just stops spawning eventually. The river full of busted cars just west of Rancho Taquito used to be an excellent source of scrap metal but for the past couple days only maybe four or five of the cars actually spawn items properly. I tried other lower-pop servers and finding anything in a wrecked car anywhere was rare. The police station basement still spawns plenty of ammo, though. Also if none of you have seen Pleasant Valley on a pve server check it out. Some pretty impressive and elaborate building going on there. Edit: Update notes just went up. quote:The servers will be coming down at 3AM PST for approximately 2 hours. So bases will be slightly harder to break into now that you will need to bring a bunch of metal shards and branches with you to make new spears instead of one lasting forever. Bummer about the extra mats to make framed backpacks since the world is maggoty with normal backpacks with only 200 less capacity. But more twine means more wooden bows so I'll call it a net positive. Republicans fucked around with this message at 03:59 on Feb 10, 2015 |

This base I built on Blackout has remained undisturbed since I rebuilt it a few days ago. Seems like this is enough to keep just one dude with a furnace and a spear from coming in and wrecking the whole place. Or nobody cares because they don't play anymore. However I have noticed that anything useful to a hacker who teleports wherever he wants will eventually go missing from any storage container. Usually just guns, ammo, repair kits and first aid kits. So actually hoarding anything good is still pointless.
