i'm 27 and have worked at a bunch of places. i worked a summer internship over in embarcadero it was pretty- sorry- hella sweet anyways the elements i admired were the companies that recognized their work was primarily intellectual and didn't have enforced work hours or require anything of you really besides getting poo poo done. so some people came in at 10 sat in a corner and cranked poo poo out then left at 2 while others were there from sun up to sun down because they liked to just bullshit with people all day and it's how they worked best. no one cared and no one kept score of who was coming in and leaving when. if anyone bragged about working 130 hours they probably wouldn't last long at least where i was that won't catch on other places because the culture of needing to control the peons has been too deeply ingrained.
