But then maybe the person who made this would realize there is no contradiction. not just that - you can be assigned a socially constructed gender at birth which does not match your own internal perception of your gender the idea that girls like dresses, tea parties, and baking is no more necessarily true than the idea that boys like snakes, monster trucks, and getting into fights. but what if i like wearing dresses AND monster trucks? in that case i have been assigned an incorrect gender from a small menu of gender roles acceptable to the society i live in, because either wearing a dress or liking monster trucks is somehow 'wrong' where the image gets confused is the whole "at birth" part, thinking that gender is something naturally inborn in a person instead of something which is projected on us by others from before the time we are aware of it. five year olds are generally treated as one gender or the other long before they can fully articulate their own self-perception of gender, leading in some cases to mismatch. it can be difficult to imagine a spectrum outside of 'boys' and 'girls' since that is our cultural preference, and it can also be difficult to accept that fundamental masculinity or femininity doesn't really exist except in broad, vague strokes. you can exhibit socially transgressive preferences both within the safe bounds of your gender as well as beyond the bounds of your gender, and where that boundary lies is entirely up to the society in which you live
