why the gently caress do you need to put bacon everywhere? bacon is good but goddamn, that amount of bacon is the same level of nasty as a deep fried mars bar.

it's lazy seasoning basically. msg is useless if you know how to cook. there's a whole lot of natural ingredients that have msg in them and give the same effect, only they have other flavours besides pure msg. parmesan, tomatos etc.

but hey, you think that bacon monster looks appealing so i guess we've got pretty different tastes when it comes to food.

yeah that aint exactly science, just basic cooking altho i did study that poo poo for a while yeah.

but seriously if you need to use synhtetic msg to give your food flavour, you're doing something wrong.

do you know how to make mayo? just add some garlic and that's it.

i know jamie oliver is a bit of a twat but this looks like a good recipe: http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/eggs-recipes/aioli/#w8TGKRMhSuBM3Dp6.97

if you wanna do chili mayo, just leave some garlic out & add freshly chopped chili and a bit of honey.

In Gainesville theres a place called Square1 and they have specialty burgers. I had buffalo, kobe, and lamb and they were all awesome. Bit pricy at about 14 bucks with fries but its a restaurant and the buns were butter coated and each burger had a ton of quality fixins.

Apparently they're all over Florida and got voted "Best burgers in Florida" multiple times. A bold claim but pretty justified given my 3 trips there.

I've been to Square1 a few times and they are for sure legit. Lamb burger with feta is awesome. The decor and theme in there is hosed though.

If I had to choose between carmelized onions or raw onions on a burger I would definitely choose raw. Maybe if I was feeling really onion-y, I would do raw on top and a carmelized onion/combo of something else on the bottom.

Basically, onions rule

Agree. I actually hate caramelized onions. Other than causing a stringy bite, I never notice them there. Caramelizing seems to do nothing more than "remove flavor."

The only alternative to raw onions on a burger that I'll occasionally partake is onions rings/strings. Sometimes they really do the trick.
