I have a super hardcore libertarian friend who is paying for his degree with non-subsidized private loans. I bet the amount of money spent to do that would still be less than a for profit school. If you want me to get specifics, just let me know STR.

The university denied him a student loan because his parents made too much money (even though they weren't paying for a cent), so he had to go to the bank and pay a much lower interest rate for basically a line of credit to go to school with.

When I toyed with going back to school a few years ago I qualified for so much financial aid and grants it made my head spin.

Well, tried called four times today and nobody answered. Drove over to get a better look at the BEEMERZ 1990 Auto 1986 Stick Trunk on the 4 door was open, I pushed the lock button on the coupe and it popped open. Trunk was full of trash. No battery. Wouldn't stay closed after that. Tires in various states of flat and going flat. Sun was pretty much down so I couldn't really get good interior pics. I dunno, for $400 maybe this is a good idea? http://www.e30v8.com/

Use the 4 door to manual swap the coupe. Enjoy it while you put the v8 swap stuff together! If that coupe shell is remotely clean, that's a pretty good deal. Engines are a dime a dozen.

Seriously, buy both and make one good car out of them. Well alright let's be realistic, one reasonably solid driver.

They're dirty as poo poo and I can't wait to smell the interiors. Most likely leaky sunroofs and I'd be shocked if either ran. The whole lot is full of poo poo cars for stupid cheap. I'd go over there with cash in hand tomorrow except that I have no place to work on or store it.

Bought a tire for a little old lady today in the local pep boys (they service our company vehicles). She cried, which made me cry, all of which made the dude behind the counter tear up. Never been so happy to spend $108 in my life.

No-job panic mode does have it's advantages - you work like a motherfucker to get another job. And when an employer can see that you're working your rear end off to get hired, they tend to figure you'll work even harder to stay hired. And then they employ the gently caress out of you. As of Monday I'll be the maintenance man for the biggest church in town. Woo. (I'm agnostic and blaspheme casually. This is going to be entertaining.)

Yeah I turned down a job offer today and it was the strangest feeling, I felt like a jerk, but the owner of the company was a huge rear end in a top hat. During the interview I asked what benefits the company offered and was told "A Paycheck", then that was followed by a 30 minute rant about Obamacare and socialism. Then even more with why he shouldn't pay taxes since he was a job creator and the like. So a poo poo pay offer with no benefits didn't sell me on his company. So I'll ride my current remote worker job until I'm laid off at the end of March and let the no-job panic mode finally get me to finish my certs. I've never been on unemployment in my entire life, maybe it will be a nice break for a month or two. STR, I wouldn't go into debt yet and would do like others have said, cert the gently caress up. There is a good thread about certs in SH/SC that will point you in the right direction.

Holy poo poo, I had an interview like that. He started the conversation with how desperate he was for an experienced systems admin, and when I asked what sort of benefits he offered he started going on how he expected his employees to be personally responsible for healthcare and started rolling his eyes and mumbled something about 'That Kenyan terrorist' And that was it. I thanked him for his time and left. I'm not even a fan of Obama, but I don't need to be working for a guy that holds his employees in that little regard.

Soooo straying away from job/political chat something awesome has happened in my state. A few months ago they passed a motion to increase the speed limits of I-15 all along the Wasatch front of Utah to 70 mph. Mind you that we also have a long stretch of 80 mph in the middle of nowhere Utah. Rush hour traffic is still mega slow, but when it's not congested everyone is hauling rear end. It's seriously makes freeway travel awesome.

An '89 man trans 4 door 325i popped up in the local BMW Facebook group. 178k miles, $1800 OBO. I took a screenshot and sent it to my wife. She replied 'what are you saying?' I told her I want to buy it because it's cheap () and they look handsome when they are dumped and clean. I sent her a pic for an example. The texts back stopped after that.
