So the marketing makes it look coherent and well written? Weird.

I don't why people bring this up. Not only are they not related but it was established he had a crush on her before he even moved in. Joe's always known and even Eddie entertained the idea. Barry is more like Joe's forever son in law, than his son by birth if anything.

Iris sabotaging Barry's new relationship was also completely out of character. Her being jealous so suddenly felt like super cheap, piss poor writing. As for breaking up her and Thawn? I'm still holding out on a big plot twist with him. Easy break up.

But speaking of piss poor writing, what the gently caress was up with last night's Arrow? Or Arrow lately in general? Wasn't Roy the ONLY PERSON on Team Arrow last week who insisted on working with Merlyn? Now he's bent out of shape about Ollie working with Merlyn, and mean mugging the poo poo out of Malcolm when he sees him? Also, didn't they have a vaccine type thing for Vertigo? Also, I wish they could give Ollie an actual reason for being against Laurel joining the team, considering he had no trouble letting Roy join, despite the fact that Roy regularly still gets his rear end kicked. What the hell is happening to this show?!

ahahahaha, I think you need your memory checked. You don't remember the whole "you can't fight, the only thing you're good for is taking a beating!" thing? Ollie was barely willing to use Roy as an informant, and that was only 'cause he didn't know Roy personally so he didn't give a poo poo about whether he lived or died.

Letting Roy onto the team as a fighter was just about as much of a struggle as it was for Laurel.

Sure, but Ollie's response to Diggle was that Laurel is not a soldier, and neither was Roy.

I feel like I am not getting across what I mean here. Ollie's reasoning is bullshit, but I am annoyed that no one is calling him on it as bad as they should. Diggle says "neither is Thea" but he totally should have mentioned Roy too.

Also, the main point about the bolded statement I was trying to make is that he let Roy join him with pretty minimal training. At this point Laurel has had more training than Roy did when Ollie accepted him. It doesn't matter that he gave Roy poo poo before he let him join because he let him join when he was less competent than Laurel currently is. My point is that Laurel is further along and actually more trustworthy than Roy was when he started. So it is extra bullshit.

Well... right? I guess I'm not sure why you're making that complaint when the entire point of the Oliver's relevant arc in the episode was addressing this issue and making Oliver realize that he was being too hard on Laurel, and then changing his mind and letting her on the team. It's not like the story didn't address this like crazy.

I guess the thing with Dig is true, yeah he should have mentioned Roy too but Thea is kind of the more appropriate comparison here, since she's someone Oliver deeply cares about.

Anyway I really liked the new Flash episode; as someone else said it was cool to see a sort of non-standard episode that didn't really have a villain that Flash fought against. I was cool to see Cisco brought on board the "Watch out for Wells" train, and I'm really happy with how fast they portrayed the breakdown of Wells' image once you start doubting him. Like, almost immediately after you become suspicious, it turns into "holy poo poo look at X thing Wells is doing, this is actually pretty hosed up".

Gaz-L
Jan 28, 2009
There's also the (ho ho) reverse. Once he was out of sight, Wells made the call to help Firestorm instead of killing him/them. Kind of a 'what you are in the dark' moment. Like, every other good thing he's done, you can argue was for his image, but he'd already ruined that in this case by deciding on the 'kill' plan, and he went back on it with no-one but his future-computer to see.

What's on your mind, Axa?
I'm trying to catch up on Gotham, because the midseason finale kinda killed the momentum, and I have to say, I find it amazing how, in a series with mob bosses jockeying for position, corrupt cops, serial killers and assorted lunatics, Barbara is the absolute worst, least likeable character in the entire show. I'm enjoying just about everything else well enough, but drat. I dunno, I'm only on the second part of the Gordon at Arkham bit (What the Little Bird Told Him?), so I guess maybe she gets better. But I seriously doubt it.

I could see them keep Eiling around as kind of an avatar of Grodd. Which would let them do stuff with the character without constantly having to do a completely CGI character.
