Hell, its just a VW right? 50% chance the sweet integrated blind spot mirrors (the only thing I miss from my passat) from a golf or passat or something fit.

Got to spend a few hours crawling around in the portion of the attic above the garage. There was a bunch of (small) furniture up there that mom wanted. Mainly a couple of spare chairs for our breakfast room table (two of them are falling apart). Surprisingly, they were in fantastic shape, despite being up there for nearly 15 years. A couple of rat droppings on them, but no odor or urine stains. Wound up finding some long forgotten stuff. Like another set of chairs for another breakfast set (also in good shape), her high school diploma, my grandfather's old breakfast room table (completely 80s plexiglass - one leg fell off at some point after it was put up there), my stepdad's record collection (yes, it's as ruined as you think)... and a very expensive chandelier from a house my grandfather owned in the 70s-80s that he lost in a divorce. The fixture itself was just laying on the sheetrock (wasn't even on the floored section, and it weighs a good 30+ pounds - no wonder the garage ceiling has a big crack in that area), plus a huge box of crystal pendants. Found a lot of old employee files from mom/stepdad's old company, which I'll be taking to my credit union on their next free shredding day. Some of the paperwork in those boxes dates back to 1983. Found some questionable wiring - mom had outlets installed in the backyard flower beds for a fountain and landscape lighting. Those outlets are 20 amp instead of 15 amp (so they'll accept a 20 amp plug), and the wiring used is 12 gauge. It's tied into the attic light fixture, which has 14 gauge wiring feeding it (and I assume it's on a 15 amp breaker.. I hope). The wiring isn't supported in any way except for being tied around one beam. It's also romex, and it goes into conduit at the eves. I didn't think that was legal. The chances of something 20 amp actually being plugged in out there are roughly 0.01%, but it's something a good inspector would spot whenever the house gets sold. randomidiot fucked around with this message at 09:24 on Feb 19, 2015 |

How big were those crystal pendants? Are they the same kind that hang from the chandelier? Would they be willing to sell said box?
|
# ? Feb 19, 2015 09:37 |

They're the kind that hang from it, yes. Mom thinks there may be a few missing - we have to assemble the fixture to figure out what's there and what's not, it hasn't been assembled since 1988 (going by the date on the newspaper everything is wrapped in). I'm hoping the lampshades are in there somewhere (if it had any; I haven't seen it assembled since 1986 or so since the house was tied up in the courts for a couple of years during the divorce - which would have put me at 7-8 years old). The pendants: The fixture itself: Pretty sure it was antique brass, but the years haven't been kind to the finish. The wiring looks to be in good shape though - it's not brittle at all, and I was surprised to find a ground wire (a very tiny ground wire, but still a ground wire, so that tells me it's likely mid 70s). And yes, it'll be for sale. Mom thinks it may be missing a few pendants; if so, she'll be selling the pendants either individually (unlikely) or as a set (likely). If it's complete, she'll probably want to sell the complete fixture. I know it was a $$$$$$$ fixture (grandad was pretty well off; owned a Chevy, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Saturn, Nissan, Dodge, and a few other car lots that escape me at the moment, along with an Avis franchise). randomidiot fucked around with this message at 11:06 on Feb 19, 2015 |

Well, it was one of my bucket list cars, but a member of the Italian car wanker group gave me a very solid offer. I put about 12000 dollars worth of parts and my own time (using base hourly pay for a tech at my shop) and sold if for about 23000 over what i gave for it. it was basically in mint condition, but now its in mint condition and reliable. But the money will be put into my next major project, (for those following me on snapchat, my next project is NOT the lovely 76 Ford i bought yesterday) I dont want to jinx my self, but i am working on buying another of my bucket list italians, for those following 13 inchs thread the make of the car should be rather familiar

In total there were 4 adults and 7 kids crammed in this thing. 1 mile in I'm noticing very little mirror use, lane wandering, excessively hard braking and reaching back to smack her unruly children all while we're blasting down the freeway at what I can only guess is 90+ miles an hour. A few more miles my fiance tells me she's so proud that her friend finally got her licence last month. She's in her mid 30's. I took a taxi back home after the zoo. $40 fare but worth every god drat penny.

Oh hey good news that part with the sheared bolts on the zx2 is removable. Bad news is it's the entire front subframe. I found a picture of one that has been taken out and circled the two bolts that sheared off of mine in blue. The service manual tells me how to take it out and it involves a whole lot of taking the suspension and exhaust apart.

Yeah, but the W2 sent to you doesn't have anything to do with whether or not they withheld properly and everything. Wouldn't that be them sending the W2 and/or W4 paperwork to the feds? Basically I don't understand how the hell him not getting a W2 could possibly affect him owing MORE. Unless the IRS determined the employer never filed that poo poo, in which case they should be going after them, not him.
