sants posted:i think usually it's a holdover from when they had no space at LANs so learned to play that way. its also because its also a lot more ergonomic to hit w and s on the keyboard at the same time if you tilt it like that because it makes it a lot more natural for the pointer finger to move from d to s while the middle finger is still on the w key. hitting further up on the number row with you left hand also becomes easier. also the guy who has move forward and backwards bound to his left and right mouse button knows whats up because he can run around and compensate for forward movement if he needs to shoot without putting his fingers in an awkward position. its easy to do side to side with a normal keyboard position but compensating for forward and backwards movements becomes really loving awkward

I used numbers back in 1.6 (b46etc) but CSGO gives you so much time to buy that there isn't a big incentive to learn my binds. I'll get around to it sooner or later. It's on my to do list along with learning the smokes for mirage and inferno

I'm trying out lightboost on the new monitor and it does make a pretty significant difference. Playing at 144hz /wo lightboost felt at most like 20% better than playing on a 60hz monitor, with lightboost at 120hz feels like it's actually refreshing twice as fast. As someone mentioned before the downside is that the overall picture is a lot dimmer. There's no way to eek out additional in-game gamma past 2.6 right? Otherwise I might have to revert to 100hz /w lightboost or 144hz /wo on darker maps.

Jeez, sorry. I have no idea, I just look at how many games it says I played competitively and how many I've won in the game. I figured it had to do with me being near the bottom when I started playing again in November. It doesn't really bother me being in silver since I do suck.

Think a big thing people need to realize is you gotta call everything you see/hear. If you hear something, look at minimap for half a second and call if you don't see a blue dot near you. Call when someone shoots you from where. Call how many. call everything

The other day my team didn't call a single thing (only one of them died and the rest fell back when Ts rushed - so on my side of the map it felt like nothing was happening) and then they blamed me for not providing backup when the bomb was planted. ESL One Cologne 2015 will be in an arena which seats 15,000. I live 10 minutes from the venue. Gamescom last year was nice (although it was practically impossible to get a seat) but this will be insane. I am so hyped.
