The point is that they've done as well as can be reasonably expected in a four year draft period and still not won a championship...i dont think they're a 'failure'

It almost has to be Golden State. To get to the 7th seed OKC would have to do as well as Bball Ref expects GSW to do over their remaining games. And I'm not sure if even a healthy and motivated OKC is that good. And SA would have to go like .500.

Chris Bosh might be out for the rest of the season because of possible blood clots in his lungs. :gonk:
http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nba/miami-heat/article10734557.html

quote:

Bosh was admitted to a Miami-area hospital Thursday after meeting with a doctor. The Heat’s power forward underwent initial tests that proved inconclusive, according to the Heat. The fear is that Bosh could have blood clots on his lungs. If there is a pulmonary embolus, or multiple clots, then Bosh would be out for the remainder of the season, and possibly longer, while being treated with blood thinners for pulmonary embolism.

When did OKC pass Phoenix in the standings? I guess that's probably why the Suns dismantled half their team at the deadline.

Also by the way is Durant's foot hosed up

That's two guys out for the season with blood clots in the lungs. Teletovic and Bosh. These guys need to get into hyperbaric chambers before takeoff or something. They need to take pre-cautions.

I think Phoenix made some good moves. They turned a disgruntled expiring Dragic and free agent signing who was causing some issues in IT into 2 extra first round picks, a rotation SG and a pretty good young PG/SG.

they also gave up a high first round pick from the Lakers, it's worth mentioning.

Yeah, feel real bad for Bosh.

In regards to Cole, I don't see how he is any different than Austin Rivers this season. Meh.

The best and most important part of that trade is, and forever will be, that John Salmons is officially no longer playing for the team I pay money to watch. I can't put into words how happy this makes me.

The cherry on top is not having to give up anything in order to do so! Waived Toney Douglas on his second 10 day contract, but whatever. I don't believe the team gave up any salary flexibility, either, since everyone acquired is either on the last year of their deal or just super cheap.

Yeah they did lose their most valuable pick in the Lakers pick, but they did get 2 pretty good picks from Miami and Cleveland's 2016 1-10 protected. Not a home run but still a couple good moves for a team that wasn't going to make the playoffs anyway.

The day after this all went down, I find it maybe more sad than amusing that a large number of Sixers fans are so dumb that they keep using "reigning ROY" as a reason as to why trading MCW was a horrible idea.

I believe they got a first round draft pick from OKC out of it. Also Real Actual Humans Grant Jerrett and Tibor Pleiss. Plus they're likely gonna buy out Perkins so that he can mean mug and set illegal screens in Chicago or Cleveland.

I'm cautiously optimistic that Hinkie is biding his time on a potential Harden-type player in a similar situation (not necessarily as good as he is, but just underrated by his team and most of the league). I'm certain the Sixers don't actually want to use every single draft pick they've acquired, but the question is who is that guy? Please not Draymond Green.

I'm fine with losing MCW, but I guess i have to root for the Lakers to win at least 5-10 more games this season.

If Philly pulls off a Harden-like deal it won't be anyone currently available. It could be John Wall in a couple years when Pierce, Gortat, and Nene are broken and useless. It could be Lillard after Aldridge and Lopez's knees finally succumb and Damian alienates the fans by stating that there are only 2 genders on 4bar friday. It could be Jimmy buckets after he chokes Thibs out.

But really if Philly drafts well they might not need a deal like that.

Ask me about my brother.
I'm not really sure how I feel about the Cavs ending up with Perkins. I know what he is and we need another body in the post. I even heard what a great locker room guy he is, just never been a fan. Is there a true Perkins fan out there and did you have a Charles Oakley poster on your wall growing up?

Perkins is garbage. His best skill, which I guess people say is post-defense is basically useless against 90% of teams. Also he is good at tricking coaches into giving him minutes, which takes playing time away from guys who can actually catch a ball.

Hello? Can you hear me? ...Perhaps if I shout? AAAAAAAAAH!
Perkins is good on a team that has no other Bigs bodies to steal from, and possibly Cavs having a euro coach is immune to the wily temptations of Perkins.
