I know Reddit is frowned upon a lot and while there are people who take everything onboard that Metsfan says there's just as many asking him to stop. Someone linked to a story that Alvarez wrote about the freedom that NXT gets, and Metsfan tried to claim that he said basically the same thing, while linking to his own post that doesn't actually say the same thing. I'm not sure if my favorite recent MetsFan thing is his trying to report on other companies that he assumedly has no connection to, or his "Triple H's new clique" "report" that basically said "the guys who are among the best wrestlers in the world don't have to do the same workouts as the greenest rookies."

Speaking of Stroud, he used to obsessively mention his girlfriend Destiny in every RAW recap but I haven't seen a mention in months. Did she finally get tired of that Hornswaggle-looking beta?

My favourite Metsfan memory is the time he posted something that implied his source knew more about something going on with the Rock than Dave Meltzers source. Meltzers source for Rock stories of course being the Rock.

It's almost like he's done it purely for attention and when that didn't pan out he lost interest.

Good poo poo from Ask the Mask on Grantlandquote:What, exactly, makes smart marks any different from Vince or Hunter in their obsession with certain types of performers?... e: A stunning assessment of WWE's business. quote:Do you think WrestleMania will ever be aired on NBC? e2: God dammit this entire piece is such unbelievable garbage. quote:How would I book [Sami Zayn's WWE debut]? I’d have him pull a 1-2-3 Kid–style win over Rusev (or, more likely: Bad News Barrett) and have them do a best-out-of-five series that culminates at a PPV. Zayn loses but looks strong. I don't remember how the Saturday Night's Main Events did but it was probably reasonable. Since WWE advertising is still payday loans and Mike's Hard Lemonade, I doubt Wrestlemania provides enough value added that giving it away is a thing that makes sense, even after a couple good Network years. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they got a Sunday night to put on a Fast Lane kind of PPV, though.

The poor uneducated blue collar types in Chicago, the south and the New England/New York/Pennsylvania tri-state area buy that poo poo as much IF NOT MORE than the so-called 'desirable' demographics that WWE supposedly doesn't have. Raw has a consistent history of holding it's own against other professional sports including Monday Night Football even if it reaches a smaller audience, and the exorbitant prices of their merch and tickets shows they're willing to spend. What is the hangup? Since when does loving Ford of Anheizer Busch turn it's nose up at the opportunity to sell things to rednecks and factory workers?

Historically wrestling fans haven't even been seen as a giant boon for networks trying to get people to tune into other programs. One of the rare exceptions was The Ultimate Fighter. That's one reason why it's rarely been used as a lead in to other original programming. People who watch Raw are a really peculiar breed. Even if there were signs they want to support other things, brands don't want to be seen as low class even if they are cheap. When TV Networks, surveys and advertisers all view an audience as worthless maybe it really is worthless? It's ok to admit you are trash, I already know I am.

Reminder that the last two times professional wrestling was mainstream, WWE fans cheered as the most evil man in the industry forced a woman to strip down to her underwear and bark like a dog to beg for her job, and a top star killed his wife and son. That is one of many, many legitimate reasons why WWE, and by extension its fans, are viewed as especially low class.

Also let's reiterate a point I made in some other post that I can't go to any store without seeing something branded with Duck Dynasty, a show literally about rednecks dicking around while avoiding running their loving DUCK CALL BUSINESS. And also Honey Boo Boo's riveting toenail based programming. But we can't put advertisements on a pro wrestling show because that would make us look low-brow.
