Quick question, when loaded and with the shutter cocked the spool knob on the back of my 645pro can be turned backwards freely. Is this normal? The shot counter doesn't go backwards so I'm hoping it's a ratcheting thing to prevent damage. Just wanted to check before I waste some rolls. http://i.imgur.com/iydBZuS.jpg
Horrific cell phone pic. Knob can only be turned in direction of red arrow.

The Hasselblad's film lever can be freely spun backwards when all is cocked and loaded so I would assume that is the same for the Mamiya 645 as well.

This amazing thing showed up on local classifieds this weekend for $400. Mamiya Super 23 press camera.

I am not buying it, but just wanted to post it because it looks so cool.

$400 is a lil steep unless there's some bells and whistles thrown in. I remember watching some youtube video of Eggleston shooting one of these.

Sometimes I get lost.
Also the bottom left could use some cropping. Your emulsion is showing.

Poor dorkasaurus, can't catch a break. That said; this is an excellent portrait!

Soooo much better. Love your portraits. Do you typically know your subjects or are you going out with the intent to find interesting people?

A boombox is not a toy!

KEH never told me what was wrong with the Hasselblad I sent in for repair, I just saw a huge refund from them on my credit card. I've had crap luck dropping lots of money on medium format - so I'm thinking of just getting a Konica Auto S2 or Contax G or something to fill the film craving for now, and maybe work on building my own large format camera for fun over the next few months. Oh well.

Maybe my color vision is complete poo poo but I have not been able to see any color issues with dorkasaurus's stuff and the color corrected versions all look the same to me as the originals.

I can see the with a redish-tint but honestly I think it works with what hes doing and gives it a unique style? Having 100% perfect colour balancing is not always needed for a nice photo.

It's hard to say what the intent was in his previous pictures because the gamut was all out of whack. The picture he just posted is a little warm/red, but it works, and I like it.
