I think it was at the NYCC Panel that Roiland said he and Harmon have been talking to the writer of the comic a lot because he doesn't want to do stuff that the show is going to end up doing, and they've walked away jealous a couple times that he thought of stuff that was more on point than what they were writing. So it sounds like a quasi-collaborative labor of love rather than a goofy knockoff like half of the Simpsons comics ended up being.

I bought the blu-rays since they were only 18 bucks but I am kinda annoyed that they aren't bleeped. I don't squirm at the swears, but my wife does, so when I watch them with her and all of a sudden Rick is dropping "mother-fucker" while beating on the devil it is kinda a shock compared to how I originally saw it on TV. Venture Bros did the same thing come season 3 but they also stopped black-barring dicks and poo poo so that was even more out there. Sometimes imagining it all is way funnier.

It really depends on if the bleeps are the joke or not, like the rusty venture scene in VB. It just loses something when they actually are saying filthy stuff instead of it all being censored for being too filthy.

But, while it's lovely, at least it's a show for adults and not for children. Kids don't have to see that poo poo like they probably might for MLP, Regular Show, ect.
