This is a fun game. It's probably too early yet to really get into meticulous builds, but does summoner Icemang need any sort of boss-killer other than Ice Beams? I feel like I should take advantage of Icicles' shatter bonus, but I haven't really seen anyone else do that and it worries me. Also, melee pets are generally better, right? To get the Construct Focus AOE right on top of people consistently?

KittyEmpress posted:So what do you even do in this game when you get our first character to 60. I figure since all of you have like 40 at 60, you'll know exactly what to aim for. You get bonus XP for each character at 60, with big chunks for your first four, so I would recommend spending 200 splinters on X-23, then buying a couple of random hero boxes so you can get your first four heroes up. If you really like any of the characters you have, you can then farm for their recommended gear. A good way to get some uniques is to go on a green raid (you can get 6-10 guaranteed uniques once per character per week, with the reset happening Wednesday early AM), which will also start getting you the currency you need to upgrade gear (which you can get once per account per week, same reset). Green raids are so trivially easy that you could literally bring a naked character and still not adversely affect anyone's experience. Just X up when someone tries to put one together and mention you've never raided before, someone will happily explain all the fight mechanics. You can also get a lot of uniques very fast by doing Bovineheim portal runs - you'll get the portals from events every now and then, but there might be a few people with a couple of portals lying around. You'll also want to get enough Odinmarks (through continuing to do legendary quests, which will also give you XP, which will start giving you omegas) to get a legendary for whatever character you want to play in "endgame" content (i.e. farming cosmics for gear and XP/doing raids), and then farm some more LQs to level that legendary up to rank 5. BrianWilly posted:This is a fun game. The difference between the two pets are trivial, as mentioned the ranged ones love to run into melee combat anyways. On paper icicles should out dps ice beams, but almost everyone is saying that Icicles are not, it is possible the 25% shatter bonus is not working properly. You only want to invest in one boss killing spender unless you are doing that weave thing with icebeam/icicles, which is murder on your spirit and probably is only remotely viable at insane gear levels.

Axis Raid Walkthrough! (stolen with no shame because I don't like any Pubbies period) So, Genosha is up on TC, the next raid is here. Yes, there is a new set of items to be crafted along with the new raid, but seeing as those aren't complete yet, I'll just focus on the Raid itself for now. THE 1ST ENCOUNTER: STARK SENTINELS The 1st encounter sees you atop a ruined freeway, when you encounter these 2 new raid bosses. There is Alpha, the one on the bottom half of the map, and Beta, the one on the top half of the map. Each sentinel emits a damaging debuff, akin to the monolith, that deals 2x the damage for every stack you have, while also granting you an extra 2% damage against that particular sentinel for each stack. While these stack to 100 currently, it is advisable to switch far before that, 50 at the most. Each one has a few regular sentinel attacks, like freezing and beams, that hit harder. They both also have a massive AoE attack that jets out in 3 directions. When either of the boss sentinels get to 66% health (and again at 33%), they spawn 2 additional mini-sentinels While these mini-sentinel adds are alive, the respective boss is shielded and can't be attacked. The adds on Alpha (the bottom sentinel) are resistant to area attacks, while the adds on Beta (the top one), are highly vulnerable to them. Strategy 2 groups of 5, switch every 30-40 stacks. When the top adds come out, if there are people with big AoE attacks, like Magneto or Juggernaut, on the bottom one, run up and help with the adds. When the bottom adds come out, leave one guy up top and everyone else go bottom, the bottom adds seems to be a lot stronger right now with no vulnerability. Rotation is key, as if either of these are left alone, they start to regen health. THE 2ND ENCOUNTER: STARKTECH NULLIFIERS The 2nd of the 3 parts of the new raid is more mechanics than damage, though damage really helps too. There are 3 Nullifiers that are put up in order to get through a massive telekinetic shield (3 guesses who it's surrounding, and the 1st 2 don't count) The 1st is on another ruined freeway overpass on the left While the other 2 are on top of a ruined building on the right The mechanics are as such. There will be SHIELD engineers that drop in to charge up these nullifiers, and you need to protect them from the Red Hydra forces while they do. There will be some that attack you and the engineer, like the elite Mechs and regular troops, and some that attack the nullifier and stop the charging, blue Sappers. As long as there aren't any forces attacking the engineers or sapping the nullifier, it will charge. Sometimes the engineer will die, but they do respawn at the beginning of the map and run back up to the open nullifier, but it takes some time, but there isn't any timer on this event currently (or it was just bugged for me) The Charge of the individual nullifiers are on the top bar. When all 3 are charged (green check marks), here is where the strategy comes in. Not only does the engineer still need to be on the nullifier, but for them to have ANY real effect on the field, they all need to be activated at the same time. If just one is out of place, and the other 2 fire, it only deals just a few % damage, as opposed to 20-25. COMMUNICATION IS KEY. Strategy 3 groups of 3 with a floater between. Have an assigned person in each group to activate when they are all charged. When they are all up, the floater can back off and do a little countdown in party chat to help sync up the activation of the nullifiers. Once the shield is down, it's time for the big show.

New raid sounds kind of interesting but I'm not feeling the escort mission of encounter 2. And am I correct in understanding that we don't actually know the specifics of what the reputation system is for yet?

If an engineer dies, someone needs to indeed escort one to the nullifier pylons. Remember, can't click pylons without engineer supervising. You want to hit at least two pylons at once. Just clicking one does NOTHING, clicking two is like 10% and clicking all three is 25%. Watch gaz change the encounter and all this to be useless lol

I haven't compared the two). They probably designed Magneto with his enemy costume as the default at first and changed it to the white one later, since it's his 'hero' costume anyway.

No analysis necessary. Holy shazbot to everything. Round 5: How To Win Guys, we're going to Muscleheim. This is the mother of all Final Four entries, as you're going to be having to bring the heat on GREEN MUSPELHEIM. Your mission is to defeat all 10 sentries, following the ticker at the top of your screen. When the 10th sentry is down and Hogun appears, that means you have won. Time starts when you move and time finishes when I see the ticker say that 10 out of 10 sentries are down. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT CLICK THE NPC AT THE END (Hogun). IF YOU DO, YOU CANNOT REPEAT THIS PART OF MUSPELHEIM You can teleport out once that 10th is down and just go back in and try again to improve your time. Everything resets on TP out. Obviously, go in to Muspelheim by yourself (clicking the checkmark). I think you all know what you're doing. Great job to all competitors and holy crap, I can't wait to see the results here. I don't even know what a good time technically is! I have no idea what to expect here period! What an awesome Final Four, cosmic today!
