Roberts already upheld the ACA last time it was in court, so I doubt he'll rule against it this time, especially since this case is much weaker. I wish that weren't what I was relying on, though.

I'd be really interested in seeing how early Christians thought of Genesis. The fall of Adam is a pretty big part of Paul's argument, for instance, though that doesn't necessarily mean it was literal. Do you have a link to some more reading on what you're talking about?

It was more seen as metaphorical. The 'historical' Bible started with Moses. Augustine would probably be the best start, in his On the literal meaning of Gensis he basically argues that Genesis was written to suit the understanding of people at the time. Also Origen is another good source for the allegorical standing of Genesis, though I can't remember what exact body of his work he discusses it in.

A comment on the bolded part. This freeper is of course totally off equating hate speech with a certain type of music, but if a public performance in a public or educational space contains language that is hateful against a race (even a race in a privilaged social position) or sexist language any unwitting audience members WOULD be fully within their rights to complain the administrators that such speech or music should perhaps be enjoyed in private. You bet if i was at school and some guys were performing a rap song about killing white people or how evil they are, i would certainly head right to the folks in charge to get them in trouble.

"Your rights end where mine begin" works both ways, freeper! :smugbert:

They really don�t think. That is the consensus I get after doing background checks on and investigating them for over 20 years. I have looked at thousands upon thousands of social media profiles, hell maybe millions. When people say they are like the Borg its true. They think collectively. One person gives the order and reacts one way and they all do the same without giving it a second though. To put it bluntly they really are lame brains. I chllenge you to ask some of the Tweeters if they knew what they really posted - what it really meant, what the implications are, what the consequences will be. And I find telling them what I really think works far better than platitudes because people like this tend to assume silence = support. Giving them an unequivocal "you're wrong, and an rear end in a top hat" is far more effective at making them shut up and go away.

Your workplace must be different than mine. It's my experience with the couple of people like that in my office that telling them what I really think is an invitation to getting an elderly Southern woman camping out next to my desk for the next twenty minutes ranting to me about kids these days and how the world really works.
