Not worried about getting a copy of Bloodborne period, but does anyone know anywhere it's still possible to preorder the $80 special edition? Not completely sold on getting it but I asked today and the Gamestop around here is sold out

edit: definitely sold on Bloodborne, not sure if I care enough to want the steelbook thing and the art booklet and whatever else it comes with. And if getting the special edition means having to get it shipped and not being able to play until a few days after it comes out, then definitely gently caress that

Is it still said that you can only delete trophy lists at 0%? That seems like an odd arbitrary limitation to me, if the trophy list is already made. But, since the trophy function appears to be made of toothpicks and chewing gum inside, I guess maybe it is necessary.

I was so burnt out and exhausted by Hotline Miami 2 during the final stretch but I think the last level is incredibly loving cool. Not sure if I'll have any desire to replay this for a long time but the ending (both gameplay and story-wise) is about as climactic as it comes

Like I was definitely let down on some fronts (although maybe I'll appreciate them more in eventual hindsight) but I definitely can't count the ending in that. I would say there's no reason to play it if you haven't played the first game, and if you DIDN'T like the first game I can't imagine you changing your mind. If you did enjoy the first, this one might still test your patience during some parts but the aesthetic and the variety have been cranked up really high and I'm very happy to have played it

I mean one of the weaknesses of the sequel is that the game is easily three or four times as long as the first and even with the change-ups thrown in, the formula starts to spread itself pretty thin. I definitely wanted more Hotline Miami after finishing the first game, though, and now after finishing the second I think I've had more than my fill of Hotline Miami for a long long time, so maybe that's a mark of success in a weird way?

So I kind of want to play a new horror game while I wait for Bloodborne. I was gonna pick up the REMake HD but I saw White Night is now out, and was wondering what goons thought of it. Is it worth the fifteen bux?

EDIT: Or should I just 5bux the first episode of Revelations 2?

I'm biased because Resident Evil is one of my favorite franchises, but I think REmake HD is seriously amazing – the best in the franchise. It's a little obtuse and intimidating to newcomers, but I think it really is the pinnacle of the old school, crazy puzzle, ammo management style survival horror games. There are relatively few annoying mechanics, and the backtracking is brief. You get two characters to choose from, each with their own story/side characters and special weapons/sets of endings, so it's good for more than one playthrough. It looks gorgeous on a PS4 and oozes atmosphere, and it's one of the few RE titles that really feels moody and creepy to me rather than just relying on jump scares.

I've had a lot of fun with Revelations 2 so far, but it's more of a third person shooter with horror elements. It's trying a lot of new things in the series, some that work and some that don't – you switch between sets of two characters in each chapter. It's much less puzzle oriented than earlier games like REmake, which can be a good or bad thing depending on your preferences. The first chapter is slow but it's really picked up as the latter episodes have released. If you end up absolutely hating it though, it's probably not worth buying the others.

HM2's soundtrack is superior to HM1's, IMO. a lot of HM1's music works great in the context of the game, but once you start listening to it outside of the game, it becomes screechy noise. HM2's soundtrack, on the other hand, is great at all times.

I haven't finished it yet, but I'm enjoying HM2 pretty well. It's not as good as HM1, mostly because of some dumb design decisions, but it's still pretty good.

Probably the same way anyone else does, used the same password as another site that was compromised. Also getting your account banned for issuing a charge back is standard practice because the company has to pay a fine for each item charged back.

Something I was thinking regarding the Sony Gold&Silver headsets - do you guys think a Sony Platinum wireless headset priced at about $200 (designed to compete with other $200-300 headsets) would sell well? I imagine it would be similar to the Gold, but with things like better build quality, a longer-lasting battery, better sound drivers and actual 5.1 surround along with the virtual 7.1 on PS3 & PS4.

I've (accidentally, I had recently been out of the country and my CC company thought my PSN purchase was fraudulent) been banned for chargeback, and just for the record, it's not permanent. I had to buy a PSN gift card equal to the amount of the chargeback and give the # on it to a rep on the online support chat and my account was restored the next day. It would really suck having to cover the cost if the purchases weren't actually mine, but they weren't permanent.

And whomever hacked his account de-authorized his PS4, which Sony couldn't reverse. He couldn't add his PS4 back to his account for like 6 months either.

Because it's coded from blind idiot ramblings and visions of elder gods instead of an engine compatible with multiple consoles. It'll probably get a Fox Engine rebuild at some point, but not anytime soon with MG5 coming. Rebuilding MG4 would be a serious project to do.

Does anyone have the PlayStation credit card? I'm thinking of getting it just to use on PSN because you get points to buy Sony stuff.

Yeah I've had one for like 5 months. Between using it for all my PSN stuff and alot of everyday stuff I've gotten about $200 in PSN bucks in that time. Like, instead of just spending $40 at the store, I'll use the card and then just pay it off the next day when the charge goes through. Regular stuff only gives you 1x points (or more if there's a special or something), but the 10x points on PSN is crazy. It's 1000 points for a $10 PSN code or 2000 points for a $20, they don't offer any higher ones. Sometimes the codes "sell out" so you have to wait a day or two, too. But really, if you buy a lot of digital titles it's worth having. Like when they run those "spend $100 get $15 back" deals, you get the $15 code plus enough points to get a $10 code from Sony Rewards so it becomes "Spend $100, get $25 back."

The only downside is it seems to have a crazy high APR to start off with, even if you have good credit. But, if you pay it off every month it won't affect you. I called last month and got it reduced as well, but it's something to watch out for.

Pre-loads usually happen the Sunday before release, so it should start downloading sometime today. Probably in the afternoon.

I'd not anticipate any particular issues, assuming the monitor itself isn't some old piece of crap. As it was with my 360 and PS3, I run my PS4 through one of my monitors (LG 27EA63) and it is fine. What monitor do you have?

Most TVs use the limited colour range while most monitors use full range. Make sure you set it to the right option or it will appear washed out. I'd also recommend using the sRGB setting on your monitor for more accurate colours.

Hm. I was gonna say Amazon but they are sold out now too. I tried to order it at Gamestop a couple of weeks ago and took them being sold out as a sign that I didn't need to spend $20 on what they have previously given out for free. That CE is a ripoff. I'd probably buy it if it was in front of me though.

The soundtrack is absolutely brilliant but holy poo poo is the game inconsistent as hell. I got stuck on the first level (after the prologue) for a whole long time, and then I plowed right through several chapters that were super super easy and then wham, another ridiculously hard level.

Too much glass, too many guns, too many fat guys, too many people shooting you from where you can't possibly see them.

I had some fun with it but its a weaker game than the first one by far.
