A friend showed me a bunch of skins for various tanks and stuff and I want to give it a shot - anyone got any experience with custom skins? So there was a post on reddit the other day (or I thought, I can't find it anymore) about an android app called Free Eagles. Basically you give the app your WT account name, do some "tasks", and get rewarded with hitlerbux deposited into your account. This looks super duper shady but I downloaded it anyway. It seems to work and I haven't been assassinated by the Russian mob yet. There's a whole bunch of stuff that wants you to download a game, play through the tutorial for anywhere from 20 to 300 eagles at a time. There are also 30 second videos you can watch for 1 to 8 eagles. A lot of the tasks want you to just install an app, open it, and it gives you ~20 eagles. You can uninstall each app immediately afterwards. Has anyone had any horrific negative experiences with this that I need to know about? I've just been installing random apps that it suggests, opening them, closing them, and uninstalling them and I've got about 500 eagles in the past day. It's a pain in the rear end, but it appears to be free. You can enter in an entirely optional "invite code" that gives you "referrer" 20% of the eagles you earn. Mine's 7rym8 if anyone gives this a shot. I'm not sure I'd recommend this, just want to see if anyone has heard anything.

What are you guys doing in your T-34 to fall apart so easily? Before the Jumbo came along I didn't have a more reliable family of vehicles. They get shot, penetrated, and keep trucking like champs.

Buying any premium tank that isn't significantly different from what you can get via normal progression is a waste of eagles, honestly. Don't do it. The M26 premium is an especially terrible buy because it not only fails in that sense but also, as Feindfeuer points out, doesn't even get the good ammunition, so...

This guy is wrong, buy all the premiums. Also the M26E1 is awesome now that APCR lights things on fire again. You can easily ignite nazi tanks from 2km with the HVAP.

I was wondering how a 190 d-13 caught up to my meteor in a dive with no problem so I took one out for a test drive. It can go 150+ kph faster in a dive and not break, then pull a 13g turn at 980 kph and not break. gently caress.

Mustang hits ~810kph and then pops into a million pieces, and will self destruct pulling any kind of maneuver above it's listed maximum speed. What jets besides a Yak-15 is it catching? My impression is that jets are nowhere near that fragile.

I will never ever get tired of the Yak-9T/K as having to only land one hit to utterly destroy an enemy will never get old. Punking bombers who don't even try to maneuver with one shot is also great, but the best is when you land the shell in the bomb-bay and it cooks off. Bomber, what bomber?

The Maus players just park in the gaps in the rocks just outside their spawn, so they are protected each side so you can't flank them. You can't penetrate the frontal armour at all, and because of their proximity to their spawn you can't drop artillery on them either. I imagine the absolute top tier Soviet and US tanks can cope with them ok but everyone else is completely hosed. Given Gaijin's track record with previous events with stuff like the Tiger II H and the Ferdinand I imagine it won't be long before the Maus is quietly removed from the event line up.

Now 15 seconds or less is the norm, and guys who got the hit notification that they took out my gun breech are surprised to find a working and loaded gun when they try and rush me to take advantage of the damage they inflicted.

It has been beautiful watching the arching trajectory of the Maus saga in this thread. We went from a unanimous certainty that it would suck (instead of considering how its flaws will matter in this game scenario) to so many posts about how it just isn't fair to fight against. Where were all these posts about tier 5 balance before the Maus? Excepting any valid event lineup complaints, of course, but the rest owns.

The J7W1 does fly a bit oddly and is stiff in turns, but it has an ability to yank its nose around in a ~30 degree cone that I think outclasses every single other plane in this game, particularly when fighting at high speed which is what everything at Tier IV ought to be doing anyway (sorry Zeros). That, combined with 4 tightly packed, nose-mounted, high velocity 30mm cannons makes it unbelievably potent as long as you don't fly like an idiot and try to turnfight everything. Even if your aim is off at first, there's a really good chance you can walk your fire in whatever direction needed to make the enemy fly through a stream of 30mm. Just look at this ability to slam the guns around in order to get shots off (apologies if you don't like baller music). This same thing is odd on landing where if your throttle is up, you can kind of doriftuu about a bit at low speeds  Did I mention that its wings don't rip until around 920 or 930 kph?  You can outrun a loving Tempest II in this thing in a dive, but the Tempest II can catch you in a low altitude, flat drag race. Even though bearcats and the like can run circles around the J7W1 in proper turns, the J7W1 can throw its guns on target way faster than they can change direction. I love this thing. Kind of bummed that it's spaded now  I tried to pick out kills that show how you can throw the nose around to make up for last minute maneuvers or your aim being off, rather than the metric fuckload of kills this thing will get just running down pubbies in straight lines or slicing them in half from above without them knowing you were there. Oh, it also faces B-29s all the time, and they are probably one of the most fragile bombers, and go up against super high speed interceptors armed to the teeth with 30mm  I also get a lot of kills in this thing during the zoom phase of boom n zoom, because people don't expect a plane 2 km below them to be zooming at 700+ kph and to have accurate enough fire to kill from 1 km out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dL8wccREIjc If you don't like the J7W1, I guess you can fly literally any other Tier IV Japanese fighter, because they're all amazing. mlmp08 fucked around with this message at 16:57 on Mar 15, 2015 |
