I like how after the update there were a lot of anti-shitposters in this thread, and after a month they've all hosed off. Sadly, the quality of shitposting in this thread never recovered. Maybe that was the true goal of the winter update? Make even the haters give up? Job well done, chucklefish.

I don't really chalk that up to a failure on the game's behalf, since I don't expect any game to have unlimited replay value. Though obviously, I do hope the next big update doesn't take another year.

There isn't really a lot to say right now, still playing every now and then, got my server up for some friends. Didn't know it was a sworn duty to combat shitposters in a thread on the internet over it.

Speaking of the game itself, they recently said the Teleporters will be available from a teleporter shop in the Outpost, so that's when you'll unlock them, and they'll come in multiple styles. Also something about underground challenge gates, like small instanced arenas/dungeons that yield a big loot deposit at the end if you survive. The downside of this as far as I can see is that a lot of loot in this game is kind of worthless. I know that a lot of that is due to current balance and the way other systems haven't been implemented, but there's basically no interest for me in finding treasure chests. E: Also, leafsnake pet.

I like Starbound. I enjoy it and I play it often. Sometimes I talk to people who do not like Starbound. I have no feelings about this, because the fact that some people do not share my tastes is not in any way important to me. I do not enjoy becoming arbitrarily angry about irrelevant things because I am an adult and the aimless frustration of my adolescence is behind me. Now I work and hug my family and eat home-cooked meals and sleep, and sometimes I play games, such as Starbound, while trying not to think about the terrifying inevitability of death. Also, I think the Novakid are neat.
