You can click on demount in the sell menu and change it to sell instead.

Game would be legitimately better if they came up with a gimmick for destroyers that wasn't smoke. Constant disappearing and reappearing ships is just dumb and obnoxious.

Or they should just implement it in a way that isn't so dumb. Make ships in smoke have no markers of any kind but still make them render or something.

I think that any area filled with torpedoes be hereby referred to as a "blunderdome" because it only takes one blunder to go down in flames. Especially since there's no thunder of guns, or at least no reliable thunder of guns.

Where exactly do you shoot carriers to actually cause damage to them? loving shot a carrier 50 times in my DD to kill him everything was doing like 200 damage only.

Use torps dumbo, DD guns are basically useless against anything that isn't anther DD

AFAIK the tier 4 carrier has basically no hit box for half of the ship since its see through, try hitting the stern and or using HE to set it on fire to prevent it from using its planes.

Set them on fire with a round of HE, so they can't arm their planes. AP might be overpenning, but you want to aim for their stern either way.

Going heavy on the fighters is pretty legit for a carrier. I had a game where I only did around 6K damage, but I shot down over thirty planes and took home 1.6K experience and 100k credits. It also kept our team's capital ships from getting wrecked because I bled two carriers dry of bombers.

Dive bombers are weird on automatic. They can hit almost anything, at least once or twice. That makes them great for dealing with destroyers. Against other targets, uh... They don't do much damage, but they crit well, and start fires.

I tried using the auto-aim from multiple angles. Against a Kongo, from behind, with a perfect run-up, they nailed 4/4 bombs. Same ship, same speed, but from the front, they only hit 2/4. Full speed DD from the side, one hit.

Stationary carrier, from the front, 1/4. :psyduck:

Either the automatic bombs are RNG as gently caress, or your bombs have a greater chance to hit from certain directions and suffer a penalty from others.

Tier 6 INJ destroyer sucks stock.

I went from 3 torpedo launchers with 30 sec reload to 2 with like a minutes reload.

to be fair its the same amount of torpedoes, just now 3 per launcher.

It's just that its such a slow reload...i feel like a cruiser

Can one of you naval spergs help me out here? I've seen these things on several ships but I can't tell what they actually are. This one's from the Ibuki, next to the front batteries:



Isokaze has them mounted on racks at the stern on one of the hulls. At least they look the same.

Seriously. They're so slow you can either maneuver to avoid being hit or return fire. Given how weak they are anyway, the choice is obvious to maneuver and they basically never ever get on target when you're doing evasive turning.

It's a real downer in the fun category to not be able to shoot my piddly guns just to have something to do while bobbing and weaving enemy fire while trying to set up torp runs.

Interesting/cool.

The only time I ever survived against a battleship in my Cleveland is when they're using the Nagato which has serious accuracy deficiencies. I can put DPS out there but a battleship will still kill me waaay before I do much to him if he's aiming.

Destroyers have a better chance but their smoke isn't really good unless a battleship closes and it doesn't take much to kill one.

The tier 3 and 4 are heavy destroyers. According to wargaming text, they were intended to be lead destroyer. However, unlike the actual destroyers in the game, they lack smokescreen. I have been messing up a few bad players though that haven't catched that my hitch on cycling another volley was because I was launching my torps. I'm on the kuma right now btw. The tier 4. Guns are a wee bit weak compared to my phoenix. I blame that mainly on the kuma using 140s compared to the phoenix having 152s. That said, the torps on the kuma are 7km range (5km on the phoenix) and they actually reload at a pretty decent rate. Nothing sweeter than doing a narrow spread from 6km out (and thus, away from secondaries) to land all 6 torps.

Last couple games, I have sunk a couple of larger tiered battleships because they were so focused on their big guns that they forget to steer till it was too late for the torps. The torps didn't kill them outright though, but chunked enough of their hp that I suddenly had the advantage to finish them with the guns shortly after. Also, I sank a cleveland in the same ship because as he avoided my torps, he ate 3x citadel hits from my guns and sank.

Get the crew's gun rotation skill for IJN destroyers or don't bother using the guns at all. It increases the rotation speed by 2.5 degrees, or well over 50% for most lower tier destroyers.

My current plan in the game is to go for the Des Moines, but goddamn if playing Japanese destroyers while getting rocked every time a battleship farts at my Pensacola isn't making me rethink that.
