Really though, did any Firefox user that wasn't using DuckDuckGo as their search engine of choice already (although they apparently show the same thing if you use DDG's !google thing to pass through to Google results) really go "gee, now that Mozilla has changed partnerships, I think I'lll start using Yahoo!"?

I sure as hell didn't. poo poo was defaulted back to Google as soon as it came out. Yahoo! is a website olds use to infect their computers with viruses while they read bad news articles with a mediocre search engine thrown in somewhere and/or a company that is trying to make anything it acquires as bad as possible (lol Fliickr).

Google is also terrible but other search engines are worse.

yahoo's search results for anything you might want to download are impressively stuffed with malware.

In an effort to make sure that its users see more ads google has been converting flash adsense ads to html5. on android phones this makes chrome choke. https://plus.google.com/+ArtemRussakovskii/posts/MtcZGJprWje

quote:

I've been trying to figure out what's causing absolutely awful scrolling and general responsiveness performance issues in Chrome onhttp://www.androidpolice.com lately, and my conclusion is that it's Swiffy that is powering some of Google's AdSense ads with animations.  Recently, Google announced that they're now auto converting all Flash ads to HTML5, presumably with Swiffy, but it seems like their own browser takes a huge hit any time it sees them.

The animations themselves are very choppy. We're talking about 2fps.

The browser jank increases 1000%. I tried pausing the Chrome debugger attached to a mobile device via USB debugging and caught Swiffy code using touchstart and touchend, which are known for causing performance issues.

Any time a page loads without animated ads, the performance is fine.

why would the EU need to approve a connector?

its illegal to sell your are phone or most other portable devces in the eu without originally a mini usb and then nowadays a microusb port, or an adapter to be provided free to any eu citizen if your device uses something different.

thisis wy everyone except apple no longer has weird proprietary chargers and poo poo on they phones, and apple has to give u a free microusb adapter if you're in eu

after all, why bother having a north america version with custom adapter and an eu version with normal usb, when you can just sell usb phone globally?
