It's the three movies, the only English release of the show. ("Movies" meaning "two-part episodes") Phelan and I reviewed the other two as well. The second review is on Patreon, the third is the next to be put together. They just call the other episodes Thunder in Paradise 2 and 3, but it's really obvious they're just episodes of a TV show.

Was it as obvious as say the Master Ninja movies, or Riding with Death?

Speaking only for ME, it's because they're generic and done to death. They're not interesting characters to watch, they're just grating because you know the writer couldn't think of anything more interesting to use as an antagonist that you know the main character will one day grant their "comeuppance" in some kind of cool and "awe inspiring" way. You now, an :effort: plot.

Yea, child bullies are amazingly psychotic and awful, but I've also rarely seen a childhood bully in media that felt like someone I'd ever encountered growing up either.

His humor can be a bit dry or fall flat at times. I know that he's a bit older than most critics so it could stem from that and basically making 'dad jokes' sometimes.

You could start on the current "animated Renaissance", and start at Aladdin and the Adventures of All Time: http://phelous.com/tag/animation

For more "classic" horror, the Pulse series is one of my favorite: http://phelous.com/tag/pulse/

The thing about Phelous is his videos are very self-referential. You'll miss a few jokes if you haven't been watching from the beginning.

Some of my favorites of his are any of his animated movie reviews, like both Beauty and the Beasts http://blip.tv/phelous/beauty-and-the-beast-part-1-6976645 http://blip.tv/phelous/beauty-and-the-beast-golden-part-1-7016715 Lion and the King http://blip.tv/phelous/lion-and-the-king-part-1-7001231 Aladdin and the Adventure of All Time http://blip.tv/phelous/aladdin-and-the-adventure-of-all-time-6646347 Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde http://blip.tv/phelous/dr-jekyll-and-mr-hyde-6611996

There's also a review of the baffling Time Machine that I Found at a Yard Sale http://blip.tv/phelous/the-time-machine-i-found-at-a-yard-sale-part-1-6696699

Amityville 4 has some of my favorite jokes of his http://blip.tv/phelous/amityville-4-the-lamp-escapes-6130640

For further "Knows his poo poo" I suggest trying the reviews of Jason Goes to Hell and Halloween 6. Halloween 6 especially is a really good overview of the film, its two cuts, and the various stupidity in them. I also like his review of Silent Hill Revelation, but it's very much from the perspective of a fan of the games, and if you get sick of "The games were better because" easily then skip it.

My favorites for the fun and humor are Incubus, Feardotcom, Stay Alive, and Cry Wolf.

Halloween 6 is, by almost any measure, a terrible movie, but I too cop to enjoying it. Partially for Paul Rudd sleepwalking through the film, partially for the lush autumnal cinematography. What gives the Halloween franchise a leg up over the other ones in the Big Three is that they were always able to evoke a feeling of the place (fall, the Midwest)* extremely well, which I find to be a huge boost in horror films.**

* I realize that most/all of these films were shot in California.

** This is excluding the Rob Zombie remakes (as I haven't watched them) and Halloween: Resurrection (which was pure poo poo front to back).
