To my knowledge, in all the hours I've played BL2, I have never ever fought that drat super-constructor the normal way because it just tears you apart in seconds if you get close. Even with as little enemy variety as pre-sequel has, I'm so glad they didn't bring back constructors with missiles because those things were a gigantic pain in the rear end.

But this is exactly what TPS lacks: frequent and challenging enemy encounters. I can recount a lot of tense moments in bl2 even with loot table equipment. I can only remember one challenging badass in tps and thats the raiders with rocket launchers. And they usually come by themselves.

The TPS characters feel more more fun than the bl2 ones but if all youre doing is killing lost legion soldiers 1 at a time who cares?

Have you played the secret Mario room in Tycho's Ribs? It's full of Guardians and Legion Eternals and it's a really good fight. Even with a pair of tooled up Baronesses RoboJoe and I still had oout work cut out to not die. It is only one room in the whole game though.

There's no real storyline, the humour falls flat hard and its filled with enemies that alternate between awful and annoying.

I recommend playing the Torgue and Tiny Tina dlcs if you ever go back though. Both are really solid.

My main complaint about the witch doctors was the masks covered their only critical hit area. Etech snipers would be ideal... if they actually dealt real critical damage. Unless you were playing zero with b0re you were just SOL.

Witch doctors aside overall I kinda felt that BL2 had more interesting hitboxes. Probably due to having various loaders in the mix with a good chunk of animal life instead of mainly human enemies.

Being able to do a Tale of Two Wastelands thing with BL2 and TPS, while technically impossible, would be pretty boss.

I feel like the Witch Doctors could be pretty annoying--especially in TVHM and UVHM--but for me, the most obnoxious enemies were the Orks from Tiny Tina's DLC that transformed into the "Duke of Ork". They'd level up so rapidly that it was really difficult to nail them before they grew into their final stage, and then you'd have to spend several minutes kiting them around and dumping massive amounts of ammo in them until they mercifully died. Like many opponents in TVHM and UVHM, getting anywhere near them was basically instant death, so you had to just constantly run circles around obstacles to keep them at bay. Supremely dull.

Huh, sorry to see that the Redbelly and No Such Thing as a Free Launch bugs aren't in there.

(Redbelly doesn't reliably separate at half damage and the shield around the gyroscope in NSTAAFL doesn't go down when you hit the switch. Both issues are fixed by leaving and reentering the map.)

It seems sort of weird that there's no Steam News about the DLC being released today, like, "Voyage of Claptrap DLC is live!" or something. Granted there are earlier articles mentioning the date, but it's pretty typical to have a date-of post announcing it when it actually happens.

Malt posted:

Honestly, they're all pretty solid in their own respects. If you don't want to feel so lonely when you're solo'ing, Jack and Wilhelm both have skills that give you AI assistance (Jack's digi-clones and Wilhelm's robots), but even with the absence of similar skills, the other four characters are still solid choices. Some of the characters do have skills/trees that seem to predominately lean towards teamplay, like Claptrap's "I Love You Guys!" tree, which might not be as impressive when you're by yourself, though.

It downloaded for me in Windows last night since I finally sprang for the Season Pass a day or two ago, but I saw no way to access it (The Holodome did show up in the Fast Travel Network). Looks like my Linux client is downloading it now, but the lack of character sync between the two has led to me mostly playing in Windows (since I can Gibbed my characters to reasonable equipment). Might fire up the Linux version later on and see if it shows up there.

I did get a nifty pinkish glitch sniper rifle from the new Claptrap DLC. Every so often it makes a weird noise and 'glitches', which adds a big damage multiplier. Can't tell how much it is, but it's a big difference. Usable outside of the DLC, too.
