I read Jem too, its got a tad bit of whiplash at the sheer pace of it but I guess they just wanted the premise out the way. The art was gorgeous though. Ive been looking at getting some comics for a school club my son goes to and I'm definitely putting this in the pile for them. I've also grabbed the first two comics of Sparks Nevada, they seem fun all age fare but I haven't really listened to much of 'The Thrilling Adventure Hour' is it likely to stay kid friendly or is it it likely skew a little older later (the kids are 6 - 9). I'll buy em regardless anyway because cowboys punching robots on mars is something I fully endorse and want to own.

So far, I've found eight copies of Hawkeye #19 for my wife's upcoming Media and Disability class (including two today), and my buddy in South Florida just texted me that he found two more. I took some of your advice and tweeted to Matt Fraction, Steve Wacker, and Bill Rosemann, but none of them ever responded. Oh well, it was a great idea to try. Classes are small at her school, so ten should be fine for a class set. The students loved the issue when she used it last fall (in a slightly different class, Critical Disability Studies), so it should be a bigger hit this time around, after they've all seen Hawkeye speak a few lines in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Unfortunately, she only has two students signed up so far, and they'll cancel the class if she doesn't get a minimum of eight. It starts in May, so at least she has a full month to meet enrollment, but she's really worried. At the very least, she will offer Critical Disability Studies again in the fall, and she'll use the comics again there, regardless. Meanwhile, I learned about Chris Ware's Building Stories, and how it's largely a story about a woman living with a disability, so I bought a copy on Amazon, and that arrived recently. The set is huge and heavy and somewhat intimidating, but we're looking forward to figuring it all out together, and possibly incorporating it into her curriculum. She has never been into comics (aside from liking Tori Amos' Comic Book Tattoo), so this has been neat, showing her how my favorite art form and her scholarly interests intersect. Maybe the trade thread wasn't the best for this, so I'll try here. I'm working on a project to display my signed books. It's coming along well, except I've run out of Mylar cases and the top and bottom row keep leaning forward. Anyway how do you display your signed or special books?

I've got 46 more display worthy books, not counting the stuff my mom framed for me as a kid. I've only been doing cons since 2006. This was definitely the cheapest way to display in bulk. Initially I was just going to do two rows and alternate books out every now and again, but they turned out so well I decided I could keep going.

No idea what he's done lately, though. I met Maguire when I was a teenager, and Adam Hughes at another early-00s MegaCon. I got two issues signed by AH too, one is framed and the other is in my stack waiting for more cases. I decided to do the Maguires since they fit a theme of that team pic style he does. If anyone is interested in what I used I put together a product list for someone on /co/: Mylar Cases http://amzn.com/B004C53XR6 Mirror Clips http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?productId=3306430 And a trim, but I think the one I got was 1/4 inch instead of 1/2, but I can't find it on the website now. http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?productId=3058181

It's coming along well, except I've run out of Mylar cases and the top and bottom row keep leaning forward. I like what you've got here, I think it's a cool way to display your collection. I think you may want to do another hanger clip in the middle of each row to prevent bowing. Comics aren't very heavy, but that looks like 10 feet of aluminum that you're using to hold them in place and just the length alone might cause a little bowing. As for them leaning forward, what about a piece of clear plexiglas or other thin plastic that was attached to the wall with some kind of hinge? Just a 1in strip a little longer than your bottom bar. A hinge on either end would allow you to lift it up so you could pull individual comics out, but should also keep them from leaning forward. Failing a hinge, just using a piece of plexi as a bar slightly off the wall would also keep it from falling forward, but might have more potential for bending when you remove them.

Yeah I need to use more clips and actually measure it out. I did that all by eyeballing it. The only issue is that the clips and screws are too thick for books to be placed in front of them so there will be gaps. I was thinking 2 more clips each trim would keep it from bowing and also tilt the books back, I think just more clips would actually be the best fix. If the books still lean forward I was thinking about just gluing some plastic strips to the bottom of the trim.

Nah its a sticker, so the letter got sent for free. I actually recognize the sticker book it came from. It is this book just filled with 70's rock stickers, mostly stuff like Lynyrd Skynyrd. Yup, that is a free bird.
