Awakening's system did lead to some weird stuff, like Chrom not being able to support Lissa at all because it couldn't end in an S rank.

Chrom and Lissa had a support, it just capped out at A. He also had supports with Gaius, Frederick and Vaike that capped at A. Everyone who could pair had a minimum of two non-romantic supports, Chrom actually had the most besides the Avatar.

FE8 had a ton of paired endings that weren't romantic actually. And anything is better than FE6's Roy Waifu endings (gently caress you literally everybody else)
