Yeah I was gonna say something about how reclaimed water only has to be clean enough to ski on as long as nobody's drinking the stuff, but upon reread I decided it was probably more about the whole "sacred mountain" part. We probably shouldn't have people skiing on sacred mountains to begin with, honestly

All the water currently on the planet has gone through some creature's digestive system more than once at this point, this stuff has just made the trip more recently. I don't disagree with the idea that we should get the ski resort off the sacred mountain, though.

Sacred mountain doesn't mean 'keep off the grass', it's there to be used and enjoyed, respectfully. A ski resort may be a tad intrusive, but it's hard to lay claim to an entire mountain, and it's not as though they're strip mining it or deforesting it, so it's fine.

I figure he's, understandably, a bit more sensitive about the implication due to the context. If they weren't skiing there they wouldn't need to shoot toilet snow out at all. Now, if he hates water reclamation efforts in general then yeah that's surprisingly dumb for Two-Bulls.

I dunno, if it was a Jewish thing I'd be bothered by a ski resort. A nice park? Sure bring the family and have a good time, but a ski lodge implies a more, and I don't know how to say this without sounding like a lovely grump, cavalier attitude about things. Like, it'd feel like they're not going there to enjoy the mountain, you know? I mean in the scales of ways sacred native sites have been hosed through history I agree a ski lodge is hardly at the top of the list, but I can sympathize with a native not enjoying it as a concept.

I'd honestly be okay with synagogues being mopped with reclaimed water (as in Marty's example) but there's definitely something about a ski lodge which doesn't exactly say "respectful usage of sites of religious significance" to me. Like, I'm imagining ski slopes on Mt Olympus and that seems weird to me and I'm not even an adherent of the classical Greek religion Like, the Wailing Wall being mopped with toilet water is not that bad in my mind, but it being covered with snow so people can have snowball fights there for the monetary benefit of non-Jews seems disrespectful regardless of what kind of water the snow was made out of.

If you're using water from toilets to clean a temple up cool, whatever just maybe put a few steps between 'mopping up the holy site' and 'sat in a toilet' and we're cool, but stuff like ski lodges exist for profit and odds are good in these situations the person profiting are not of the culture being turned into a vacation spot and that's a little hosed up.

It absolutely smacks of America's history of expropriating and profiting from Native lands. But I guess Marty just wanted to add in the extra "eww, butts" factor, even if it's kinda lovely environmentalism.
