The Sims is really quite nice, I also got the Russian cruiser, that appears to be considerably less nice but it's early days.

So, played a couple games in the new premiums (without any mods on them.) Yubari - Meh, seems kinda dumb. The torps only have a very narrow firing lane (broadside) so you really can't use it very well. The turrets are glacial IJN models, but are serviceable. AAA seems decent. Gremyashchy - Fast, but goddamn - 36s for a 180 rotation on the turrets. They are nice and long ranged, so that's good, but when you are turning fast it's pretty much useless. Torps are decent, but it's got a mediocre turn rate for a DD (630m.) USS Sims - OH GOD BUY THIS. This this is hilariously broken. 38-39kts in a straight line, turns on a dime (500m turn radius, 70m less than a Mahan), the guns are fast firing (4s), and they have a 5 SECOND ROTATION TIME. It's like half the engine power is going directly to the turrets, it's hilarious. It has 2 quad centerline torp launchers, so that's a mild downgrade from the Mahan, but goddamn is it hilarious. A Jap DD tried to come on my side, thinking that because I was firing at a cruiser on the other side I wouldn't be able to hit him. NOPE. Swung them around and potted him in the citadel, then went back to the cruiser.

Pretty sure Wargaming has fixed whatever enabled people to use the autoaim mod - there was a small patch earlier today, and some people were bitching about the mod not working. In other news, I finally got the Cleveland - I love that fucker. It just rains lead and mows down destroyers. I wasn't paying attention to where I was and ran into land while making a sharp turn avoiding torpedoes. Destroyer thinks it's time to close in for the kill and I annihilate him, so he spends the rest of the match bitching about how it was bullshit. Made me so happy.

I just played a round in the russian premium and while the turrets aren't exactly slow, the ship is so fast that I have to slow down or turn to help the turrets line up.

Isn't the gold supposed to be unified across WoT, WoWP and WoWS? I could have sworn that was their stated goal with premium currency.

Crazy amount of people are using that aim assist. You can tell when your entire team is at half life from BS salvo's before any close engagements have happened. Yes, I know it only works in a straight line, but there are still a huge amount of people using it.

News report: Mogami citadel pennable by Fubuki guns. All 6 of them, too. Citadel hits seem more and more like a range game than anything else. If you're too close for your gun, your shots might be sailing right over that hitbox, so you need to be in a sweet spot where they angle just right.

Should've put the Bismarck for sale for 60 US dolleroos. It would sell like hotcakes, I tell ya. Also, no way in hell I'm shilling out money for ships right now, not even if it's premium. They've barely done some balance patches, did nothing to fix the loved-up ship progression, and added a couple of maps that I guess are okay. The premium doesn't even unify with WoT yet, and this is still closed beta, where they're meant to be addressing this stuff (unless they don't see it as a problem, I guess). WoT betas gave you a bit of gold every day. This game already has 50 dollar bundles in the cash shop. I don't know if that was the case for tanks, but no way. Nuh-uh. Too soon.

I really don't think boats is worth paying money right now. It isn't fun at the tiers where premium would matter and they've been cavalier about fixing anything, plus the way the cash shop is working is really sketchy and they seem to be charging for gold in a beta test.  wargaming.

It actually improved pretty significantly when they slowed the rate of points accumulation on three cap so that mode has an endgame now and is living up to what it used to be as a truly good game mode.

so about that US pre-order destroyer..... USS Sims - DD-409 - http://www.delsjourney.com/uss_neosho/coral_sea/other_ships/uss_sims.htmUSS Sims was assigned to escort an oil tanker named the USS Neosho during the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942. A Japanese scout plane spotted thee ships and reported them as a cruiser and an aircraft carrier  . Japanese command ordered an all-out attack, and both ships were attacked by upwards of 50 different planes over several hours. USS Sims eventually took 3 x 500lb bomb hits, split in half, and sank. 237 dead, 14 survivors. USS Neosho survived in bad shape, and was found by another US destroyer a few days later just a short time before the crew was going to abandon ship. One Neosho crew member posthumously received the Congressional Medal of Honor for his efforts to save the ship. The crew & Sims survivors transferred over, and the Neosho was scuttled by way of gunfire (after 2 torpedoes fired at the ship failed to do anything ).

So uhh did they increase the time it takes to prepare TBs in one of the patches? Cause I'm pretty sure it was ~32 seconds before with the torpedo skill but I just took my CV out because I had a mission to blow up enemy planes and it was taking ~46 seconds to prepare them. Because  really are you loving kidding me
