Snak posted:What kind of setting is it? Modern, period, American, British? Sounds like it might be a comedy, but do you know what genre it was? The character is American, it's set in present day, it's a comedy. The guy is creepy or weird in kind of a Buster Bluth or Kids in the Hall character sort of way. Edit: Maybe it was Strangers With Candy, though I probably only watched two episodes of that ever and that was years ago. There was a movie or maybe TV show with a scene where two guys resolved a fight by mentally playing out how the fight would go down and mutually agreeing who the winner was without ever throwing a punch, much to the confusion and disbelief of a third party witness. Anyone know what I'm talking about? It seems like something that would be in one of the Sherlock films, but I don't think that's right...

Anyone know what I'm talking about? It seems like something that would be in one of the Sherlock films, but I don't think that's right... The end of the second RDJ Sherlock is pretty close to this - In the beginning of the movie Sherlock is in a boxing match and narrates, step by step of how the fight will go while it plays out in slow motion, (I dodge, punch him in the jaw, re recoils to the right, body blow, body blow, duck counter-punch, etc.) then the film rewinds and plays back at full speed. The same gimmick happens at least once more in the movie. Then at the end, he does the same narration thing, but partway through, he's interrupted by narration from Moriarty, who he is fighting (I throw a punch, But I counter, I dodge, But not enough...). The slow mo break down shows Moriarty winning the fight, and the scene rewinds to go back to full speed, but then Sherlock's narration changes to "But what if I did this?" and the full speed now shows him grabbing Moriarty and pulling the both of them over a railing and down a waterfall to their assumed deaths, just as Watson busts into the scene Looking over your question again, it's not quite a match.

70s film, European (possibly Italian?). Cheesy WWII plot. Final scene has enemy fighter planes shooting fleeing civilians. Slow mo scene of the heroine trying to run away, and just as the bullets hit her it jump cuts to her falling into a field of flowers and smooching the hero. Shortly after, the hero fighter pilot is shot up by the bad guys, and rather than eject or try to land, he flies off into the sunset despite being mortally wounded. Got anything?

So I think about this movie all the time cause evil kids scare the poo poo out of me! I saw it on tv like fifteen years ago, there's an evil murderous little boy. The only parts I really remember are that the kid kept stabbing himself in the arm with a thumbtack, and he burns down the school or something at the end, and throws in the science class skeleton so people think he died in the fire! I'm pretty sure it's not The Good Son...

This one's a recent (2000+) documentary about the director's parents, both pop stars/scenesters from the 80s. I think dad played in a band, mom was a model. Anyway the title of the film iirc is something like Jack + Jill, the first name of the parents.

I think you had too many tabs open and posted in the wrong thread, but no, obviously Batman v. Superman should be a legal drama where Bruce Wayne sues Superman for all of the collateral damage caused in MoS since Wayne owns half the rental space in Metropolis.

I caught this on TV and it was a long time ago, no idea if it was a movie or a TV show or what, and no idea how badly I'm messing it up in my head. I remember a man and a woman being at home, and then a sort of black hole/whirlpool opens in the middle, and the man is upset about it while the woman apologizes for "creating a little vortex". Then they get sucked into one of those child's toys that makes animal sounds when you press the animal. They get out when the guy's nerdy friend is playing with the toy, and he gets "The duck says: help me [name]" or something like that. He "creates a woman" and they get out. I thought it was Weird Science but it doesn't look like it. E: late 80s-early 90s I think Tardigrade fucked around with this message at 00:10 on Apr 22, 2015 |

Trying to figure out the name of a movie I saw in a theater sometime in the mid-to-late 00's. It was extremely terrible. I've successfully found the title only once before, but have since forgot it. The only way I was able to find it was to find a list of every single horror/thriller movie that came out each year and look each one up. The title wasn't something that was obvious from the plot description I am about to give, so I really had to read the synopsis of nearly every movie that came out over that span to do it. This is a horror/thriller type movie about a serial killer who kills women by running them over with his car. The main character is, I think, an investigative reporter or something who is almost run over by him herself, but escapes. She gets a suave cop guy to help her out and they eventually find the villain's secret lair while hes not there, its like a barn in the middle of nowhere and is a shop for the guy to work on his car. They figure out the guy is actually quadriplegic and drives his vehicle via a rig to his head. The movie ends with the cop and lady playing chicken with the serial killer guy and wrecking the killer's car, which he falls out of and lays on the ground moaning. The cop and the lady get baseball bats or something and walk over to the killer laying on the asphalt and beat him to death. I laughed my way through the movie, much to my girlfriend at the time's irritation. edit: Unfortunately, it may not even have been wide-release. Trying to find it again myself, as well. Post-apocalyptic outlands setting like a sort of Mad Max spin-off. One scene involves killer grub-men like Morlocks. The hero has a gun or something probably. The Big Bad is a cyborg or something and I think he has a buzz saw arm. He has a giant murderdome with a death-maze built inside of it.

There is a later scene where a huge fight breaks out between a bunch of people on a different spacecraft. I can't recall the music though. If a killer robot or a cyborg Charles Dance pops into your memories it is definitely Space Truckers.
