It's lambing season on my farm and for the most part it's all cute and good but sometimes things don't go as planned. On Wednesday one of my first time ewes was in labor but the baby was totally stuck. Called the vet out and between the two of us we worked for over an hour to get the lamb out. At that point it wasn't moving at all and we were sure it had died so we were just trying to get it out to save the ewe any way we could. Eventually the big guy popped out and was very much alive, but the process left him pretty beat up and with a broken jaw. We had a serious conversation about just putting him down right then but in the end decided to give the dude a chance. The little man was bloody and looked a bit like Robert Z'dar for the first two days but I tube fed him and treated him for the pain and swelling and as of last night he was pretty much all healed up and nursing from his mom without help! He just needed a chance and some support while he used his magic baby healing powers. He's also the sweetest little thing ever

He's the oldest Wombat ever (29 years) and Wombats are one of those species that never stop growing, so Patrick is... a big boy.
