I follow them on Facebook and they are apparently in the studio, so maybe next year?

I looked them up after I posted that, and I saw that. It has been 5 years since Wilderness Heart[/b] (which I was so-so on).

Edit: I forgot about [i]Year Zero

Nice. Temples is looking incredibly sick, I might go to the preparty too. Trail Of Dead are OK but I love Bossk, so happy they're back together and making music again. Some reviewer said they could be the next Isis and while I don't really think the style has the same larger appeal, they are great.

Mcbeans new bands he plays in are death-folk Grim Tower and hardcore Obliterations, while he still masterminds BM and Pink Mountaintops. His old project was Jerk with a Bomb and when he was a kid he played in metal band Mission of Christ/Jerk Ward but he's also done vocals for UNKLE.
The latest Pink Mountaintops is really dope and pretty close to BM on songs like The Second Summer of Love, less mellow than the other PM records but still dripping with sex.
Year Zero was just a comp album I don't think it had anything new but there's a subpop singles club with 2 good non album songs Lucy Brown/Shelter
So yeah he's in 4 bands that could come out with a record anytime, although I would love a new Jerk with a Bomb record.

In other news, Roadburn was, as always, amazing. I was a bit less optimistic about the lineup this time but it just meant there were more surprises than ever, and the running order seemed to be set up really well with not too many clashes, which are always heartbreaking. In fact I ended up on my feet and seeing more music than usual with barely any time to sit down and drink/smoke/let my poor feet rest up. I was sad to miss a few bands here but oh well.

I'm missing a few here, especially a few of the Cul de Sac bands, but this was my weekend in a nutshell:

The highlights for me: Eagle Twin (on the small stage :asoiaf:), Thou, Ken Mode, Monolord, Kandodo, Anthroprophh, The Heads, Wardruna, Goblin's Dawn of the Dead, Undersmile, Bongripper and Bast. I don't know, there was just so much loving good music. And Temples next month, oh god

e: and here are some cool photos someone took

Yeah Roadburn was amaaaaaazing. Holy crap. I'd never been before and holyshitholyshitholyshit. In terms of stonery doom stuff, EHG's 2nd set, Bongripper's second set, and Thou owned it for me. To be honest though Friday was one of the best days of live music I've ever witnessed. I was so happy I didn't know what to do with myself. I really hope Enslaved/Wardruna release a recording of their collaborative set. I want to know whether it really was amazing or whether I was just really happy and a bit drunk.

Urfuast was nuts as well, that room was so uncomfortably hot and I was heavily intoxicated and it felt like some sort of ritualistic fever dream. Bell Witch were really great as well and their drummer is super nice. Really looking forward to grabbing their album when it drops on Monday.

99% sure I will go back next year, I just need to find some vegetarian food which isn't vege burger and chips or falafel and chips. I still can't look at loving mayonaise and chips, even if it's the most delicious thing.

just this local used book store near my place. Everything gets marked up for record store day, but 40 was just too much to dish out for a new Electric Wizard. I did pick up a Hawkwind repress though, so it kinda broke even.

Hey, I promise I'll stop posting about Temples after this, but I've been working my way through all the bands on the lineup and have put together a list with rough genre descriptions and links to their music that I thought some of you might find useful.

http://pastebin.com/GBcdAbeg

It has my personal ratings so I can try and figure out which stages I want to be at, you can safely ignore these. I don't follow all the different scenes so apologies if I've misclassified your favourite thrashcrust band as hardcore or something.

Yeah, this is completely crushing me. I'll admit, I wasn't that high on Empress Rising but this feels like a huge step up, which is extra impressive considering they churned it out in just a year.
