surrender posted:$500 million or whatever ridiculous $Texas amount we're spending could've built a majestic new stadium, but let's just pour more money into the pre-WWI concrete pile with awful sight-lines and a bat colony living inside because TRADITION The student section (left side of the photo) actually has the exact same 2nd and 3rd level decks because they wanted to "preserve tradition" (read: they violate modern fire safety regulations and are grandfathered in). The right side and top sides are completely new construction though. And it was $450 million so you were close!

Deadspin more or less wrote that Winston is bullshitting about getting them from an employee which seems far more believable, given his history, than him getting that sweet seafood hookup. At this point he's just tossing lies out and seeing what sticks. He's a dumbass for answering the question again anyway. He's the #1 pick despite being a known retard and suspected rapist, he could have told Harbaugh to sit and spin and nobody would have cared(note: telling a Harbaugh to sit and spin on TV should get you an award and a giant check for $1270).

It's not going to "go down"; the comment about LSU football (among others) is political grandstanding at its finest. LSU football takes no money from the state or the university and even if some of the provisions came to pass, the fact that it's exigency & not bankruptcy would likely mean more cuts to academic programs & staff (no Fall semester seems completely hyperbolic). On the plus side, there's a growing public voice against Jindal & Tea Party politics at the state level. We're like the down-South Wisconsin.

Well yeah. Boosters fund nearly everything for football programs of LSU's caliber. It's a hypothetical situation, but the no-Fall-semester scenario makes it pretty hard for the student-athlete part to be fulfilled for the fall, wherein football happens. That and it's become a pretty consistent game of chicken for these people and funding things. I guess I'm just curious about the fall out in a worst case scenario and if anyone knows the protocol for such a thing.

# ? Apr 23, 2015 07:20 |
Exigency would likely result in ~3% budget cut. If the university can't absorb that, then something is seriously wrong with its leaders. But for a worst-case scenario, I'd imagine a "Katrina" provision by the NCAA, allowing unimpeded transfers, while the real scramble would be to fill those empty spots on everyone's schedule, which I have no clue how that would be handled. pillsburysoldier posted:Well yeah. Who would have thought doing everything you can to not take in tax money to fund the things in your state would backfire! Brilliant idea thinking that taking in less money because of absurdly low taxes means that magically you will end up with more tax money in the coffers. I don't see it messing with LSU football, aren't they one of the few programs in the country that isn't just breaking even but actually making money? It is more worse for the students if the poo poo really hits the fan there.
