The Alltrack will sell well, the Sportwagen R would sell maybe 1,000 examples a year at most.

I still don't see the Alltrack selling a fraction of what Subaru does with the XV Crosstrek. I don't think they went far enough with the visual differences. It's not going to look "rugged" enough for the people who are buying that type of vehicle. Both the Outback and the Crosstrek have a certain 'stance' to them. The Alltrack looks just like a golf wagon with a bit too much fender gap that they tried to cover with cladding.

Speaking of VW the GolfR420 (formally R400? I guess?) is getting produced. This is the same insane-ness that fuels the idea behind the Hellcats, but instead it's super hot hatches. I love it.

A friend of mine recently picked up a Golf R and it's a really nice car and super quick with like 300bhp but IT'S SO loving QUIET. There's virtually naff all noise coming from the thing as it winds up and disappears... The noise it does produce is really nice but there's just not enough of it at all. Stupidly quiet car.

You always hear "X manufacturer doesn't bring X engine over because of federalization costs" but then you get them doing poo poo like this. I guess they think it would steal RS3 sales if they bring it over? I assume it's going to be a little cheaper, so it would probably do that anyway.

This might be crossposting from the general chat thread, but 1) Audi already said that boosting power of the 2.0 any higher makes it too peaky and laggy, and that adding the extra cyl really made a big difference, and 2) It's already going to cannibalizes sales of the RS3.

Doesn't the VW 5cyl merely have the power of a four with the economy of a six, or have they made a modern one?

This is the one from the TTRS. The RS3 is also getting it and it would have made sense to put it in the super golf as well.

The new Mustang is a quantum leap in pretty much every way and the Premium interior is way nicer than it has any right to be. Aside from the looks being kind of Ford just crushed it.

You Am I posted:Go the Triumph way and just slap two of their four cylinder motors together to make the worst V8 ever And yeah, the S550s are loving insane. And expensive. My poor bank account. I want so badly to put the order in on 5/11. But I really should wait until December. The bad side is I want Sync3 *and* cooled seats. Which means 2016. Without sync3 I could grab a 2015 and enjoy it this summer. Without cooled seats I could get a 2015 not-premium or a FoST. If I could play with Sync3 for a while it would really help. Too bad its not out anywhere to play with.
