Like last night's episode had a character listed in the yearbook as "Most Likely not to give a poo poo" and sometimes when someone said it poo poo would be bleeped and sometimes it wouldn't be. Its just especially annoying on China, IL because the characters swear a lot. IIRC the explanation for the difference is that when it gets said literally (as in poo) they have to bleep it and when said figuratively (as in not caring) they don't.

Anyway, it looks like BBC's Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell miniseries is finally airing next month. It'll be interesting to see how they deal with all of the supplemental stuff from the book.

Yeah, they have a big computer screen table thing where they look at their case info (or at least used to, I haven't actually watched the show in years) that's really just one big Microsoft advertisement.

Yeah, I remember that one year at E3 they were pimping Surface really hard and had the huge table one front and center. Then they went and did stupid poo poo like have two versions of it, once of which was ARM and therefore useless as a windows platform. From what I hear 3 generations in Surface is now a pretty decent product, albeit way too expensive.

The best awkward Microsoft product placement was when they spent over a billion dollars getting the NFL to exclusively use Surface tablets during games but the big blue weatherproof cases they use made them unrecognizable and the announcers kept calling them iPads.

One of Fox's ADHD 10 minute cartoons is making the jump to Fox's Sunday night lineup. I didn't hate The Leftovers and there were a few good ideas in there, it's just that they weren't really presented in any way that was especially captivating. The whole cult thing could be very interesting, but was largely a bore, and that is representative of the entire show. Worth watching as background noise while I worked, at least.

This gets thrown around a lot but it's total poo poo. Leftovers has major issues and it's clear why it wouldn't be to the taste of anyone - for instance my own personal issue is that there's absolutely no levity in any way to contrast against the utter misery and I need my shows to have at least a little humour - yet it's fans just shove their fingers in their ears and go LALALALALA YOU JUST HATED LOST and it's pretty lame and insulting.

Wandle Cax posted:Surely you must have consulted with other TVIV posters as to whether you should stop watching, and after how many episodes. The only point at which you are allowed to declare a show "not great" and stop watching it is after you have seen every episode. It's a core principle of TVIV, just like how you should never watch television unless you are doing at least one other thing at the same time.
