Oh god. I don't know what I did to piss off my body, but I pissed it off bad. Had a chicken salad sandwich for dinner last night, and a filet of tilapia (fully cooked, heat and serve) before bed. Woke up to one of my legs cramped up so bad that I wanted to scream (calf muscle pretty much seized up for about 30 seconds), when it finally stopped cramping I was seeing stars and out of breath. Felt "off" all morning, and my left calf is so sore I can barely walk. Got to work, clocked in, and started to say something to my boss. Then my stomach put his old buddy Ralph on speakerphone, I ran to the bathroom and blew chunks in the sink several times. Boss asked if my buddy Ralph was related to a hangover or food poisoning, I said I didn't drink much last night, so he told me to clock out and go home. He called in another manager and helped the other lunch driver with deliveries. I'm gonna guess it was the fish, there were a couple of pieces left. And yes, I cleaned up the sink (and everything else I touched) with gloves and commercial sanitizer, then ran the sanitizer bucket through the dishwasher to sterilize it. Went straight to bed when I got home (1pm). Just now woke up. Feel like death, definitely dehydrated, a bit shaky from not eating, still nauseated. I have plenty of to help with the nausea and appetite, along with some phenergan, but I don't think I should risk eating too much yet. Thankfully I'm off work tomorrow. Everything is Hawaii prices down here due to everybody getting regular biweekly large deployment paychecks, though, so they're like $10 apiece. Not shortwave, though. 102.1 and 103.1 FM down here, and the very expensive antennas are specifically aimed so we don't leak over the fenceline into cuba.

Thanks all. Thing is, it really kicked my head back to what's important. Yeah, the house is a wreck and needs work but it can wait because I know I have the rest of my life to paint a piece of crown molding. I don't have that luxury with him due to the finite number of days of him being a kid. Time goes by too fast, and I don't want to wake up 10 years from now with him walking out the door to make his own way and have missed anything. I work enough hours in the week that I don't need nor want to spend what little free time I have not being there for my kid or wife or friends or other family. Just a drat good day all the way around. Today was the swift kick in the head I needed to repriotize. Thankful the kick in the head came from an awesome experience rather than the other way around. There's nothing in the world I love more than being Dad. Tide fucked around with this message at 05:35 on May 3, 2015 |

Looks like a bunch of us will have to send Geirskogul a bunch of money. If he can even get his hands on that many. So I have 2 more days to finish all of the onboarding "training" for Pizza Hut (most of mine has expired, the only one I could renew was my food safety, and only because I was able to pass a 15 minute quiz). Left sick today, don't work tomorrow, scheduled only for dinner rush tomorrow. So I'm doing it from home, and writing down when I start and when I finish, and my boss will adjust my hours for this pay period. At least I got the most important one (for my position) done already, the driver-specific stuff. Still have to knock out all the customer service poo poo. This poo poo is cheesy as hell, thank gently caress I have a second monitor (and I went through the 2013 version, they've just added more cheesiness to the videos). I'd take a couple of screen shots, but apparently that can get me fired. e: what the gently caress, I just saw one of my former GMs in one of the videos, and the front of my first PH. They didn't even bother fixing one of the broken neon signs first (it was a sunset shot, that store closes in a couple of weeks anyway, and the bar has been closed for over a month). randomidiot fucked around with this message at 07:45 on May 3, 2015 |

I would also like one of those bottle openers. I'll toss down whatever the cost. In other news, I think I have food poisoning. Helped a buddy move a mattress and some other stuff into his new place and he took me out to a fairly out of the way sushi restaurant. Cue a few hours later and it feels like my stomach is about to turn inside out and I'm firing out the back end hard enough to pressure wash the driveway.

Watching Roadkill with the low road rider. It is awesome. I've always wanted a classically done low rider anyway (and I will have one some day), but this is just bathit insane. A few years ago, I blew past a Chevy pickup that was almost laying frame on the highway, with tasteful wire wheels and a nice paintjob. Gave the guy a thumbs up, and he honked back and hopped it multiple times (at 70 mph ).

The weather forecast said it would rain at around 6pm. Moments after I get underneath the Landie on my driveway, this is proven to be an abject lie. Jesus Christ. At least the bits of me that were under the thing are dry. I think I'm going to watch that latest Roadkill and play GTA instead. Of course it's sunny out there now, but I'm not falling for that one!

Holy crap, I'm going to have to start buying them now and at every payday in-between until August, then. They're a pretty small outfit and it takes awhile for them to restock. They usually restock after media is on island, though, and we just sent a group home Friday, so I'll check on wednesday during my radio show. Yeah, I said radio show. While I'm an EMT/medic, I was pulled into a public affairs position. Writing magazine articles, radio shows, those cheesy army posters you see ("Sharpen the Saw," etc), escorting journalists, etc.

gently caress trains (e: only Danish cross country). Hard. In the rear end. Train just started rolling again, after 30 loving minutes stuck because of someone decided to dig thru a cable, and no one gave the train a "go" (before we had been sitting for 30 minutes all least). Truck has been sitting for over a year. With nothing more than a new battery, an at extension housing seal, a few fluids and new plugs/wires, she fired up like I'd only left her sitting overnight. I missed my truck.
