Ignoring Pat for a moment... Shamu being Vergil and having combos is the best loving thing. "Shamu heads to Atlantis, the source of all evil" It's like someone took Ecco and make the sequel I never wanted.

Thing about MMOs is that you can actually solo a bunch of them and therefore avoid interaction with other players. I would know, I'm one of those guys.

As a common courtesy I try to poo poo at home before going somewhere so as to not run the risk of 'upper deckering' someone's toilet. Also Woolie WAS wrong about that stat placement. You could totally hear Pat's open mouthed befuddlement when Liam touched his tv and that is hilarious though.A good poster posted:I'd rather dump enough red food coloring in his toilet tank to make it look like it was flushing blood. If you want to read some bonkers poo poo go check out the plot summaries for the Ecco games on wikipedia. Those games were super nuts

The Ecco games are probably what got me into horror writing. When I was younger I found it absolutely fascinating that the game starts off so simple and laid back with Ecco trying to find his missing friends after they're blown away by a weird storm, and then slowly dissolves into a psychic dolphin fighting loving lovecraft aliens that are trying to harvest the ocean so they can attack earth. I absolutely love poo poo like that, where the premise is initially pretty tame and then it slow-rolls the batshit insane stuff over the course of the journey. I wish more games were like that.

I don't give a gently caress about James Bond (I've only seen Tomorrow Never Dies as a kid and Casino Royale + Skyfall as an adult) but I thought the end of that Bond-a-thon finale was really cool. Matt is a class act

So this funnel system Woolie and Pat are using in Bloodborne would be really cool and good if either of them had a sense of direction. Favorite moment of today's update was a bullet being fire 5 feet above his head and Woolie just stands and asks "How high up are you?".

I don't think you can blame him for this one, the tonsil stone thing happens to every npc in the world as soon as you enter the woods for the first time. I got it in central yharnam. Also what it does is super cool and easy to miss so I'm glad he stumbled into it.

Perfect Potato posted:Every update how far Shitheel Pat played on ahead of the LP grows mysteriously longer and more spoiler laden To be fair, that wasn't really playing ahead. He just managed to get patches earlier and stopped when something new resulted from that. I'm just happy that they probably aren't going to miss Nightmare frontier and Cainhurst now.

I finally got around to watching the last Scrublords and holy poo poo is Operation Galactic Storm weird. The game's plot only covers like a third of that crossover's story (there were three separate teams), screws up what it does have ("Giant Man" is actually Clint Barton as Goliath) and replaces its big linchpin moment (the Avengers deciding if they should execute the Supreme Intelligence for war crimes) with him just. Kind of exploding on his own. Also that last boss fight was from an arc that happened like a year later.

The Game Grumps dudes also did a Bloodborne series recently and their agreement to remain unspoiled was to just not play the game outside of their recording sessions until the series ended. And, surprisingly enough, neither one of them broke that agreement at all. The Game Grumps have more self-control than Pat. The low-hanging-est of low hanging Youtube video game channel fruit. Pat's condition (put in place BY PAT) was even more lenient, all he had to do was just not play ahead of the LP. And he couldn't do it. Because he's a big baby.

I bet money he got to that house in the woods and got the Tonsil Stone and looked up what to do with it and found out about the NPC replacement thing. Like if being a fan of this channel has taught me anything it's that Pat is a colossal liar. In two updates. He found and opened the password door, did the dumb thing of walking through it until he reached the lamp, then warped out and went back to exploring cathedral ward. Killed the hunters, knocked on the doors and got the tonsil stone, continued down the hill from there toward the room and inadvertently walked into the thing that makes the thing happen. Now if he didn't then immediately use the lamp that would have been right next to where he ended up to get the gently caress out of there, that would definitely make him a poo poo.

Just hearing a lot of "I heard..." from him is what's tipping me off on it all. That and some rather strange things like him seeing a bit of water that at best looks like mud and immediately going "that's poison" even though there's no real hint of it and him spotting shortcuts instantly.

Like, the least he could do is just own up to it and get it over with.

We Dank Souls fans again, lads. Strap in and let the wave of assumptions, finger-pointings, and claims that either Pat or Woolie are worst thing ruining the channel/Let's Play wash over you. Unrelated, I wish they did the podcasts on Sunday nights for the most selfish reasons. Finals week is next week and graduation is this Friday, meaning I have a ton of time I gotta spend working on my stuff, and I've listened to last week's podcast like 3 times already waiting for this week's. People suggesting they record on Tuesday nights would ruin me at this point. That, and the Podcast Curse gets funnier and funnier each and every week. I look forward to the day Pat says something along the lines of "There's no way Half-Life 3 is even a fuckin' thing anymore," and it's put on Steam for free for everyone or some ridiculous bullshit like that that Tuesday.

They are very caring. Also, haven't we had this "they've played this before" discussion about another game not called MGR before?

Dude, the first thing I thought before Pat said anything was, "I wonder if that's poison water", because they just got an antidote and Blighttown is a giant poisonous swamp in Dark 1, so it has a precedent for happening. I'm not saying Pat's not a big lovely baby for breaking his promise and playing ahead, but I don't think he's straight lying about things.
