I think it's pretty clear that they're testing the waters with this, so supporting them seems like it would be important. Also I think a Steam release probably won't be coming anytime soon. Even this release is basically just the contents of the game CD stuck in a zip archive. Not quite what I would normally imagine from a digital release.

The English translation doesn't work with the Playism version. You'll have to pirate it. Also, there's no patch, instead there's this weird thing.

Technically, this version is the same one that Playism Japan published back in August 2014, and the guy making the autopatcher did intend to support it. But soon the internet drama about patching the PC-98 games followed, he left his own project, and development on the autopatcher have stalled. From what I heard, some people do intend to fork off the autopatcher to at least support Touhou 15.

I know she's doing the art, but that's the most Harukawa Moe-est character I've ever seen. If that makes any sense. I look forward to seeing artists kill themselves trying to draw that awesome cape, much like Utsuho's.

15 looks kind of bullshit. Either ZUN is trying to make up for Pointdevice mode (basically turns the game into the photo games, there are a bunch of checkpoints that divide each stage into separate "scenes"), or he's really going to rebalance things later.
