I believe the process with GM:studio is that you open the project in GMS and press the "make linux" button and then it sends the game to Ubuntu Software Center. There may be a few more steps involved but that is the general idea I've gotten about it. In other news one of the ToG henchmen has been toying around with shaders to make the game look as bad as possible. Unfortunately lens flares didn't make the cut... yet.
