Sorry guys, it's me. I started Venture Brothers right at the end of Season 4. I enjoy Metalocaplyse. Then I found Gravity Falls right before the most recent episode (so like 5 months ago at this point). I just started watching Steven Universe on Hulu the other day. Really, if you want your show to continue without pause, don't let me find out about it.

Steven Universe is good but it's much more obviously a kids show than Gravity Falls is. I mean, Gravity Falls is a kid's show, it's got morality lesson episodes and filler episodes, but SU just feels like it has a lot more of them (probably because it has so many more episodes). I loved the plot episodes but the rest of it grated on my nerves if I watched too many episodes in a row. This isn't me complaining about the show - I'm not even close to the target demographic and I won't fault a children's show for appealing to children. Just... consider this fair warning if you're thinking about giving it a go.The_Doctor posted:Don't look up "dipcifica". I think this is a fair interpretation, but after the first...ten or so episodes, maybe, Steven Universe does an excellent job of avoiding "filler" episodes. Almost everything advances the plot a tiny bit or explores a character in a fulfilling way. Also SU has 57 episodes, even if they're only 11 minutes, so it's super varied and satisfying to binge.

Steven Universe is extremely good go watch it now to try and ease the pain of no Gravity Falls. Of course then you'll have to endure the pain of no Steven Universe too but it's worth it.

I'm happy with disavowing Say Uncle ever happened though because to hell with Uncle Grandpa. All that exists of that episode is Pearl's freak-outs and, really, only the first one and "THIS IS OUR HOME NOW!"

Steven Universe is incredible. I'm only 15 episodes in, but it's amazingly fun and beautifully animated. Definitely deserving of all the praise it gets.

I got really sad during Pacifica's episode. On the subject of fandoms: the social contract on Tumblr is something along the lines of "we are going to tag everything that could even vaguely upset you so you can block it, but you don't get to talk poo poo when you see it" which is something you people need to start doing ASAP.
