Gwent is basically just understanding how card advantage works. But, from the first few hours i've played the easiest way to win at Gwent is to play 2 cards that require the opponent to actually play another card to beat your side, then pass. Then you basically just card advantage round 2 and win round 3 with the momentum from round 2. On the other hand, game seems rad despite me jumping on the hard difficulty and doing really poorly because I've been playing way too much bloodborne. the PS4 controller lights changeing based on which sword you have equipped is real dumb. I finally did it. 11 hours in and I finally got my first sex scene. Witcher 1 and 2 started with sex scenes, CDProjekt is slipping. I also bumped into Letho.

So there's two bandits, "guarding" a bridge, as they are wont. And between Geralt pointing out that he's a witcher and the bandits backing down, there's a wide shot instead of the close-ups I'd been getting for the rest of the conversation. Queue two drowners swagggering into frame and looking around menacingly. Cutscene ends and they brutally murder the lead bandit and then just Zoidberg off into the woods.

Reinstalling graphics drivers didn't help. Might have to reinstall the game, which means re-downloading it because apparently the install eats your download files.

Hey guys, killer game, having fun, got stuck, please help, I'm escorting that white haired witch through a cave and she hosed up the teleport and when I found her again she's surrounded by rats and I have to blow up the nests... but no matter what I do it says I don't have the right bomb. Which is offputting since I have two bomb types, dragon's dream and samum and the instructions to make grapeshot, but no ingredients. Is there another bomb type down here I need to pick up? Am I missing something?

The Crossbow solves all underwater problems because it is the only thing you can use down there.

So should I clear out all the sidequests before I go face the Griffin? Or is there a specific prompt to leave the area when the time comes?

I got the game running at a consistent 1080p 30fps on my 750ti, mostly high settings, some medium. It looks stunning, I'm really impressed that this card can still push out this kind of performance. The game is great fun, but I just accidentally spent all my gold on a whole stack of 5 dwarven spirits when I only wanted one, and the game autosaved immediately afterwards. Also, I like that sometimes Roach is an rear end in a top hat and won't come when I whistle because he's too busy eating.

With the upgraded axii, do I need to have it equipped as an active skill for it to work for stronger dialog choices? Does weapon condition lower stats when you are comparing weapons between what is equipped and what is in inventory?

I keep being impressed by the games handling of freaky poo poo. The sound design helps a ton, but the backwoods, ancient and otherwise unknown magical stuff is handled really well. Fringe meets Brothers Grimm.

Who ever posted the mico stutter fix, bless you! The issue was very apparent for me when I got to sub-40 FPS, which was frequently if I wanted Hairworks on. Setting max pre-rendered frames to 1 eliminated it entirely.

Schlesische posted:My real problem with it is that it's unskippable and I don't think the game loads during it so it's just a thing that takes up my time. It's not totally unskippable at least on PC, but I haven't figured out if it wants you to hold space bar or mash space bar to skip it. I can usually get it to stop in the middle of the first line of narration, but with running the game from an SSD on pretty high end tech there aren't really "load times" to speak of, so if it was a simple "hit escape and it goes away" that would be perfect. Also I need some more loving bombs. Also also blowing up Drowners in the swamps near the garrison by waiting until they walk through a cloud of marsh gas and hitting Igni is too much fun.

playing with a gtx 770 and intel 4770k and an ssd. I started up, selected recommended settings, turned off fov and geralt hairworks, to none. As soon as it showed the bathtub in the intro, it loving crashed to desktop lol. Downgraded further and got borderless windows and turned off geforce experience and it didn't crash again (for the 3-5 mins I played it past the place it first crashed). Also, geralt's necklace thing bounced around like a motherfucker (yaaay physics) just as he was sedately pacing the introduction room with in-game physics or whatever, then when it showed his clothed lover (Yennefer?) HER loving BOOBS BOUNCED A LOT TOO. Like vibrating boobs. Well, I'm glad I'll be playing witcher 2 for a couple of weeks instead of this. Apart from that, yeah it looks super pretty but I think my FPS is something like 25, it's noticeably bad. I'm sure I have to gently caress with settings a bit more, but yeah. That said I'm sure it's a great game but the vibating boobs/necklace were hilariously dumb/poo poo.

So I'm playing through the Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition to get myself prepped for Wild Hunt, and the game seems to be freezing at random intervals- often fixable by Ctrl+Alt+Del-ing and canceling. Is this a common bug and is there a fix for it? Or should I just dive right into my copy of the sequel that has been staring at me since I purchased it earlier today?
