Description: My roommate and I read a lot, and we decided we wanted to read more, and do something fun between the two of us. We also like poking fun at terribly thought out and underplanned plots, so this seemed like a good fit! Discussion topics have included how common are tootsie rolls in vending machines, poorly done book trailers, and the evils of hallway blowjobs. So far, we've done two books, The Overton Window by Glenn Beck and Marked by P. C. Cast and Kristen Cast. We don't have much by way of logo/art yet so here's a picture of a vampire from that book

Description: We conquered a leviathan of a book this time around, we read Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. NOT ACTUALLY a terrible book, but a wonderful platform to start discussing originality in fantasy fiction, how you set up and define magic in the genre, and plenty of hilarious moments too (PENIS RAIL). I feel like we're starting to get in the swing of things here, so any comments/criticisms would be great!

Description: Basically The Edge Of Chaos is a podcast with me and my hardcore Randian libertarian Ron/Rand Paul supporting friend from high school (I am a former libertarian and current Progressive liberal) debating various current events, political and economic theory, or anything else that's interesting in the political sphere. Episode 57, "RFRA" - In this episode we discuss the recent uproar over the Indiana version of RFRA, the Religious Freedom laws and their associated outrage amongst LGBT groups and some tech CEOs. We discuss the underlying reasoning behind these laws and the effects of anti-discrimination laws in general, and go over some facets of the outrage left in the wake of last week's controversy over RFRA laws in Indiana and their "fix," both signed by Governor pence last week.

Hyperbolic Game Chamber

Our tumblr
Twitter
Our most recent episode
Genre: Gaming
Release Schedule: Weekly

Hyperbolic Game Chamber is a show where my friend and I take a closer look at one of our favorite elements of our favorite hobby: video game plots. Every week, we play a game and then talk about the plot (mostly), to highlight, joke about, and celebrate the kind of crazy poo poo you can get away with when most of your target audience is focused on pressing buttons. In our most recent episode, we played Suda 51's Killer 7 and spend the whole episode trying to figure it out. We don't have art or a logo or even our own website yet, but we will hopefully have time this weekend to get an RSS set up and get an iTunes page going.

Description: Mission Impodsible is a conversational comedy show that's put together by myself and two other hosts. We loved podcasts enough to try our own, and here we are 20 episodes later. The three main hosts are mechanics with an occasional substitute that works in a call center all on the east cost of Australia. We do loose segments mainly based on news, movies, personal notes and listener questions, but often we'll get distracted and shoot off on tangent after tangent. Occasionally we'll play games or answer hypothetical questions.

Basically we fancied ourselves as being funny and wanted to bring our lunchtime repartee to the rest of the world. Enjoy!

Release schedule: Honestly, no set schedule, certainly a few episodes per month, rising to many more at certain times of the year.

Very early days with our new show, but I've been excited about posting about it here because goons are intelligent creatures who will hopefully enjoy it.

I'm part of the Edinburgh Skeptics Society, dedicated to promoting rationalism, critical thinking, and reason both in Scotland and around the world. To do this more effectively I thought we needed a podcast, so I spent a few hundred pounds on gear and now we're up and running. We have guest speakers every month who do talks on a variety of subjects, and we also do a short interview strand where we ask our guest speakers some hopefully insightful questions about their work and their lives. Unfortunately they are on the same podcast feed and not separate shows for monetary/Libsyn setup reasons.

We've had some big names in the world of science talk for us in the past (if you're into skeptics at all you'll know a lot of the names, the usual crowd) and during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival we put on 20odd different talks, one per day, throughout the month of August which is a huge event for us and this year we're planning to hopefully podcast every single one of them.

We may also do a skeptical news round-up kinda show but it's early days yet so for now it's the talks + interviews. Hopefully you guys will find them interesting.

A weekly b-movie podcast where we cover what makes a b-movie worth (or not worth) watching. Hosted by experienced video guy Tom with his two knucklehead co-hosts Brittany and Erik plus an occasional guest, each week we watch a movie and immediately retreat to the recording studio to cover what worked, what failed, what risks a b-movie can take that more mainstream fare may not have been able to. Each episode is then capped off with a joyous recount of favorite moments and then a frank rating of whether or not it's worth your time.

We have tweaked and organized our format since we first began and have been selected as Podbean's podcast of the week! Here's a couple of our most recent episodes:

Expect No Mercy, a bizarre but surprisingly enjoyable virtual reality martial arts flick featuring Tae Bo magnate Billy Blanks
Unfriended, the MTV paranormal slasher flick that takes place entirely on a Skype chat session???
WolfCop, a terribly disappointing modern werewolf flick that was recommended to us by a number of fans
Only the Strong, a movie entirely about capoeira that Tom has loved for over 20 years

Description: This time, we read Confessions Of A Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella. After reading this book, the first thing we wanted to shop for was a gun to shoot ourselves with. Luckily, the main character did a lot of running away for us! Be prepared for shopping, lying, deceit, shopping, lying, more shopping, more lying, and plain idiocy from this protagonist.

Note: We DID somehow miss a huge, glaring issue we wanted to talk about concerning a scene towards the beginning of the book. We will address it in a future Mini Episode because it cannot go undiscussed! Sorry - sometimes we get caught up in book rage and forget things.

Episode 62, "Race Relations" - In this episode we begin with reaction to the recent shooting of 9 members of the AME church in Charleston, South Carolina and analyze the state of race relations in America. We then turn to properly making fun of Donald Trump's run for the presidency and analyze the recent failure of the TPP, and what it means for the 2016 election and the country going forward.

I have a startup podcast I'm working on and would like some feedback. We don't have a working home page or Stitcher/iTunes link right now, but that should all be up within a couple of weeks. Right now I just want an honest critique of our show.

The Good, the Bad, and the Chaotic Neutral: Pilot pt. 2

Release Schedule: Biweekly. Most likely Wednesday or Thursday.

Description: The Good, the Bad, and the Chaotic Neutral is a comedy podcast about obscure tabletop RPGs. Think of it as being like Mystery Science Theater or RiffTrax, but with bizarre tabletop games dredged up from the deepest bowels of the Internet/bargain bin. We've experienced the wonders of becoming a magical girl with the help of our crack addled space-rabbit, we've piloted giant horse robots that fire live horses as projectiles, and we've fought adult-goth moon spiders at the local Hot Topic; all in a single campaign! Each game we play is split into four episodes, with an introduction and review of the game given at the begging and end of the campaign respectively.

Yea, hast thou quaffed the beverage of bespoke books, the leader of literary treachery, Terrible Book Club?

Description: Hark! - o'er yonder link hath lay luxuriously a most magnificent dialogue of daring from twins of caustic criticism who champion the gathering of those who sift and skim through putrid prose! Oh, the peals of gaiety that will emanate from your rubine mouth gates at hearing the clamor of comments concerning one Irene Iddesleigh!

Translation: We read a really flowery late 19th century vanity published tragic romance novel. It is infamous - it was ridiculed by famous authors and even featured in a documentary about bad books.

Edit: We crossed over with another podcast, The Color Of Air, and released an episode on our respective pages each. We read Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson, M. D. on our podcast, and reviewed Styx's Kilroy Was Here on The Color Of Air, which you can find at http://www.colorofair.com. I think I'm gonna stop posting so much in this thread since I feel like I'm getting too spammy with this stuff. The next episode might require an effortpost in GBS though, it's a whole nother level.
