would you say that it's uncommon for masculine words to end in [t]? in the singular at least, not touching the plurals.

edit: 1013

a good thing about the velvet underground is that in an era when a lot of people were making preppy as gently caress happy pop rock they were writing darker material about becoming an addict and loving up your life

It's also uncommon for feminine words, I think. [ah] is the overwhelming feminine suffix.

i'm not sure this is true; if you take gender to mean any noun class system (male/female, male/female/neuter, animate/inanimate, human/nonhuman, the swahili ngeli, etc), then yeah, maybe. it's not true by number of speakers tho.

relatively few languages assign gender just by semantic criteria. i think some of the dravidian languages do this? often, gender in languages has to do with the semantics and how the word sounds. the famous example being spanish with words ending in o being generally masculine and ending in a generally being feminine, or arabic words ending with ta marbuta. when this deviates, it's usually for historical reasons, such as keeping the gender from the latin root or the merging of noun classes, like with the whole dyirbal mess.

It's the case with Slavic languages too.

Careful, dude - if an Israeli guy has a ponytail, he's probably going to be able to gently caress you up pretty soundly.

Two days ago a guy with a ponytail shoved me from behind into the sidewalk and tried to fight me

Tbf I did smack my hands on the hood of the car he was in and yell "back the gently caress up!" before walking away

Also tbf though they had literally pulled their suburban up blocking the entire crosswalk and then inched forward even more as people were approaching

The moral of the story is people with ponytails are awful human beings

You're alright, even if your hair isnt

Forgot to mention that the dude was like twice my weight but delivered one of the wimpiest kicks I have ever taken as I was getting up

I have literally been kicked harder by 8 year olds

Still glad I didn't fight him though and glad I had someone with me to help push him back when I couldn't see due to losing my glasses

Was kinda wild I honestly thought he wasn't going to run a half a block to try to fight me but

not really

I was involved in a bust-up at like 2am when these two guys were trying to wail on their sister for some poo poo and me and a bunch of other guys stopped them

similar when these guys started slapping this girl because she told him to gently caress off when he catcalled her in the street

I was once drunkenly going home when I see a guy pull a knife out, mumble something, then walk past me. I yell out "hey, man, whatever it is, it's not worth it." He says: "yeah, you know, you're right", then he walks along with me for a bit, constantly acting as if he's being followed, which it didn't seem to me he was. Eventually he just walked off towards a park and I didn't see him again.
