The scary thing is that this could actually be a thing. When Kroot eat living things, they also take on some of their prey's genetic code, and specialised Kroot called Shapers can manipulate these genetic changes so that over the course of only a few generations, new breeds of Kroot can come into being. Kroot Hounds, Krootox (basically, alien T-Rexes), Kroothawks- all are the work of Shapers. IIRC, all the fauna on the Kroot homeworld of Pech is descended directly from the Kroot. The Stormtroopers are now pretty much SS Einsatzgruppen death squads. Literally, without irony. Have you ever heard of the supposed trial where SS soldiers were given a German Shepard as a companion and then told to kill it to prove their loyalty? Well, the Tempestus Scions (because gently caress you if we can't trademark our broken latin!) do the same thing, but with another human. So they kill half of their recruits just to show how edgy they are. Any and all personality outside of brainwashed space nazis has been taken away, as now all Stormtroopers are little more than drones who follow orders unquestioningly. Meaning they have no initiative or creative thinking, something that originally set the Stormies apart from the regular Imperial Guard. The fluff is just really badly written and reads like a fascist's diary, while the rule set is just your usual mediocre GW. They also have a retarded APC that has four tank treads in its wheel wells.

40K is one of my favorite series to laugh at because its so ridiculous. It helps that I've never spent a dime on it outside of the video games, which have actually been pretty good. Related: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNK5-uE5JFg

Captain Invictus posted:Doesn't that one lady get 25k a week from drawing genderswapped looney toons or whatever Based on conversations in the old commission horror stories thread, it really can be. If you wanna make it as a regular ol' artist, you have to be crazy good to stand out, but if you're willing to cater to niche markets (like, say, inflation fetishists) the quality of your art is much less of an issue. Quite a few struggling artists make their living that way, and the ones that manage to hit it big and become a household name in their particular niche can make mad dosh.

You also have to be willing to put up with the particular brand of weirdness that comes with the kind of people who'll spend money on bizarre fetish commissions. It can be good money, but it can also be a little bit soul-destroying. I don't do fetish art, but there's a guy who shows up in my email every couple of years to check hopefully if maybe this time I've changed my mind about drawing a particular one of my personal characters absorbing/consuming his.
