Waffling on going Berserker Risk again this year, though. Honestly, I've gotten so used to them that it seems more of a challenge to use a different job.

considering switching from 750 to chaos, but 750 with berserkerrisk just sounds like the most hella fun way to possibly play this game

Since I've never completed a run, gonna go normal first then baby step up to either a 750 or no750 run. Never thought about this but is 750 generally considered easier than Team No750?

# ? May 29, 2015 00:39 |

In terms of difficulty, 750 is easier than normal which is easier than no750. Although both 750 and no750 do offer the advantage of giving you combinations more likely to have synergy with each other.

With 750 you're guaranteed to get a desirable job from the Wind crystal, which is going to go a long way towards improving your Fiesta experience.

Oxygen Deficiency posted:And pre-registered! Just a normal run for now. The help page on the website has some info. But a 750 run is just the magey-type classes. White, Black, Blue, Time, Summoner, Red, Geomancer, Bard, Chemist, and Dancer. No750 is, appropriately enough, the more physical-type ones.

ComposerGuy posted:Since I've never completed a run, gonna go normal first then baby step up to either a 750 or no750 run. Never thought about this but is 750 generally considered easier than Team No750? Absolutely. Let's go over the offerings. Wind Crystal: 750 means you get one of White Mage, Black Mage, or Blue Mage. Any one of these can solo the entire game with little effort (outside of crap like Atomos). No750 gives you Monk, Thief, and Knight. Knight is amazing, absolutely amazing. Monk and Thief are...less so. By a lot. Water Crystal: 750 is Summoner, Time Mage, and Red Mage. The weakest of these is the Red Mage, who is outclassed by any specialist at endgame. However, team 750 means you're assured to be able to !Dualcast Whtie or Black Magic, or have a Red Mage with !Blue. Any of these catapult the worst class of the set into Perfectly Capable Of Beating The Game With Little Effort. no750 gives you Berserker or Mystic Knight. These are both perfectly fine classes, although obviously the Mystic Knight is better. That said, I wouldn't put them up against the 750 set, as the worst case is Thief/Berserker versus something like Black Mage/Red Mage, and who the hell will have trouble with a party like that? Fire Crystal: 750 finally gets the booby prize, as it's Geomancer and Bard. Bard's a perfectly acceptable class, and by that I mean !Sing is a good class. Geomancer is, well...it'll have synergy with a 750 team at least, but that's about all I can give it. This is where Geomancer is at its best, which says something. no750 has Ninja, Ranger, and Beastmaster. Ninja owns face, Ranger owns face, and Beastmaster owns face, but with a little more work. It does get better weapons, though. Earth Crystal: 750 has a coinflip. Chemist, which means any boss fight can be a somewhat slow but assured win. Or you get Dancer, which may well be the first reliable piece of offense your team has. And given that I'm talking about !Dance, that says something. Still, the worst case is a fragile Ribbon user sitting in the back slinging spells, so that's quite acceptable. no750 has Samurai and Dragoon. Dragoon is okay. It's not horrible, but it does work well enough. Samurai is incredible. Once again though, the worst case here is far worse than the worst case for a 750 run. The biggest advantage that a no750 run has over a 750 run is the Aegis Shield. You're guaranteed at least two users, where a 750 user might only get one. On the other hand, when the going gets rough, a 750 run can just crack rods on everything if need be, where there's no such out for the no750 team.

I think you're severely underestimating both Bard and Dancer. Chemist is definitely better than Dancer but Dancer can really hold its own and gives a No750 a very viable Chicken Knife user (especially with White or Blue Mage along). Bard is a monster of a class and massacres basically any random encounter with Romeo's Ballad.

I'm waiting to see what CHAOS is before I sign up. Personally I've been hoping they make Random a modifier on runs so you can do a Random No750 and 750 run for a while now.

Bard is a monster of a class and massacres basically any random encounter with Romeo's Ballad. How am I underestimating them? I never said they were even mediocre, never mind bad. Besides, I'm rating the job allotments against each other. Bard' not competing against every other class for Good Or Not, it's competing alongside Geomancer specifically against Ninja, Ranger, and Beastmaster specifically. I mean, The no750 jobs being better on average* than the 750 jobs for the Fire Crystal isn't enough to change how much a guaranteed set of [White Mage/Black Mage/Blue Mage], [Time Mage/Summoner/Red Mage] will trivialize the game for you, but the low point is worth noting for people considering one or the other. *I'm counting average because if we really wanted to consider what was "easiest" and go with that route (they're both pretty easy, the point someone made above about assured team synergy does is an excellent one) then no matter how good I consider Bard I have to also consider that I could get stuck with a Geomancer. A Geomancer in its best setup, sure, but a Geomancer nevertheless. That brings down Bard some.
