CORPO COPS CAME FOR MY :filez:

The quest where you help Triss and the mages escape Novigrad stands out as completely bugged - got most of the way through the sewers before I realized Triss wasn't following me, went back and got her then realized she'd turned invisible, I was hearing Geralt's dialogue like it was 20ft away through a wall etc. Quite something.

Talking of gripes, I was on my way to do a story mission and run into a cutscene trigger for a sidequest that was about 8 levels too high for me that I didn't even remember picking up. Thanks to my MLG pro gam3r skills and several mainline injections of dewritos I was able to scum through it but it was kind of annoying.

What does that have to do with rock trolls? :colbert:

I keep hitting quote instead of reply because I'm illiterate.

On the topic of rock trolls though I hope it's not compulsory to kill any of them; every single one I've met is utterly adorable despite looking like a literal car crash.

What amuses me about some mods are the ones that just completely undermine elements of the game while claiming to not upset balance. One of the first I saw when looking up recent mods was: "Increased health regen for higher difficulties."

Pilfered some schematics for the superior variant under the nose of a couple in Novigrad - they didn't seem to mind. Not that I even have the base version yet; haven't even touched Skellige. Steadfastly ignoring the destination: skellige quest that my game decides to switch to upon completion of any quest.

My deepest regret is that you never got to shank Philippa for the poo poo she pulled in 2. I was really hoping for that option during the sun stone quest but there's always the expansions to look forward to. Honestly, Radovid had the right idea about the lodge. Shame about the whole being a crazy batshit murder gently caress about every one else with a hint of magic though.

I was just thinking about this. It's absolutely hilarious how no matter what you do Philippa of all people comes out of this game smelling like roses, after all the poo poo she pulled and all the plans that blew up in her face. It's like a cosmic joke or something, one of the most hated people in the entire world just bumbles through by dumb luck. I kinda love it.

I like the swimming areas. I didn't have a problem with the swimming controls. What I don't like is the limiting actions of water combat. But there's way less of that than swimming, so not a big issue for me.

Nope. I did the exact same thing and I accidentally skipped the casino and it was fine. I didn't get to Skellige until level 20 and I had zero issues.

Even better she has the loving nerve to claim that Geralt wouldn't know anything about which way the political wind is blowing. All I could think was, yea OK lady who got her eyes gouged out because she horribly misread the political climate

The gangs of novigrad is just an alternate way to do the casino, fighting pits and so on, where you run in with a bunch of dwarves and kill everyone immediately. If you start investigating and then go to Cleaver geralt just says he's already on it and rejects him, so I think you can't do both. Much cooler to go in sneakily and play cards and stuff.
Ahh gotcha, thank you.

Because games usually do not go on sale shortly after they are released? Green Man Gaming had been offering a discount on codes for the game or something but that seemed super shady after there was supposedly some issue between them and W3's publisher CDPR, so I wouldnt recommend that to anyone.

Otherwise I have read a ton of this thread and I have not seen anyone say anything about discounts since release.

While I do appreciate the effort up into a lot of the side quests, it feels to me like they really overdid it in some areas. My complaint mostly stems from all quests in Novigrad that seem to enjoy sending Geralt out to the countryside to run some errant. And its a pattern too, nearly every side quest in Novigrad has this pattern of 3-4 things to do in-city, then all of a sudden you gotta ride to some destination half way across the map for 1 reason (and usually it is just 1 thing you gotta do to advance the quest) that could have easily been taken care of in the city, then come back to city to finish the quest. This is annoying and time consuming and more so because it happens on nearly every single questline in the city.

So I kind of hosed up on the whole Dandelion quest line and completely skipped the "Gangs of Novigrad" questline. Is it interesting enough that I should roll back a save or am I fine in skipping it?

No, it's just an alternative way of doing the Whoreson Jr quest line. You storm the various locations instead of infiltrating them. Don't worry about "failing" it.

The game makes it seem like a big deal with the Quest Failed pop up but it doesn't matter at all.

Does all this stuff mess up the Hattori quest or will it just sit?
