True. I think she also had an amateur fight with the chick who lost to Cheesecake and then missed weight and almost died fighting someone else in the UFC, but I can't find it. I might just be confusing the two videos.

The shithole z-league near me does 200-300 on their monthly with no name fights. Their advertising consists of flyers left at pizza joints, bars and tattoo parlors.

My club's tri-monthly amateur boxing cards go for $12/ticket and make money every time. I can't see that amateur and low-end MMA wouldn't be able to at least break even.

The first MMA show I ever went to was $10 and featured a 0-0 guy from my gym against a native guy who trained by hitting a heavy bag in his basement and attending sweats. Z-League MMA is a strange place.

Yeesh. B-league adventures are the best. My ex-coach Hakeem Dawodu is fighting on the main card. Hoping he doesn't get wrestled into a paste/do something stupid on the ground because he's primarily trained as a kickboxer (or used to be, no idea how his cross training's been going), but so far he's been good for some pretty quality knockouts. He's pretty new in his career but WSOF is thin on featherweights and he's one of their few local prospects so I'd imagine that if he wins this one they're gonna start throwing him actual names (by b-league standards). The first time I went to get my second's license, I wound up in the waiting room next to a dude getting his fighter's license for the first time. We chatted for like fifteen minutes and it wasn't until we were getting our pictures taken that we realized he was fighting the guy I was cornering.

A fighter I was covering fought a girl who's gym lied about her being 18 (she was just 17) to get her in the ring because they thought she was a prodidgy, she got destroyed in a round and then cried, my subject consoled her like a mother would a child rather than celebrate and it was only after did we find out she wasn't even 18. She was mortified because she had so many friends and family there to witness her fail.
