In my current tw200 obsession, I came across this. Guy commutes to work overland on his tdub. Basically the best commute. Highlights at 3:40 for off road wheelie and 8:40 for stubborn trailbird blocking the path. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuZwRDc7Www Really well done video.

Ugh I wish I had an off-road commute. I'll settle for my commute with twisties, but the grass is always greener.

Imagine how I feel after seeing that, I commute directly from westchester to the bottom of Manhattan every day, about 24 straight miles of potholed roads full of traffic where 100% of drivers are texting from their leased Maserati's

Is anyone on periscope? I've been playing with it and I think I'm gonna live broadcast my ride tomorrow because: 1) I'm interested to see how it works on a bike and not statically pointed at a person, and 2) because why not? Its a cool concept to broadcast live video from a ride. So if you're up for watching someone drive to work ~IN REAL TIME~, it will be posted here when it goes live: https://twitter.com/one_t_matt Or if you follow me on periscope at 1_t_matt, it will be on there. We should get a goon periscope thing going, it could be neat. Post up your periscopes!

Periscope is a live-stream from your phone for those not familiar.

Does the live streaming stuff work in this day? Every periscope link I've ever seen has expired hours earlier. I didn't think people watched media like that anymore....you watch on your own schedule.

It seems pretty popular tbh

The streams stay up for 24hrs I believe E: Yep "Even if some of your followers miss out, the app will save your videos to the app by default (although you can delete them manually if you want to), and they'll be available for viewing by your followers for 24 hours."

Yea I've definitely missed streams by a matter of minutes without being able to view a playback. Maybe it's some extra step to enable that?

Well, I did my first live stream. Had some mounting and vibration issues. Mounting issues were mainly that I didn't realize periscope won't shoot landscape until I was already on the road and my mount was set up for that. So I had to switch it to portrait, which put the windshield mount right in the middle of the frame. I'll try to move it for the next one. Secondly was vibration, go pro mounts with an iPhone hanging off them do not stability make. Maybe I can brace it against the bar clamps? Who knows. It should be here for the next 24 Hours: https://twitter.com/one_t_matt/status/606798346825498625 Apparently 47 people watched my commute, which is cool/weird.

I clicked the link now just in time to see you passing a tractor. Also, I forgot how much rolling shutter happens when you don't use a GoPro.

That brake rotor looks like it's seen better days. How do you get ohlins on a buell? Do you have to frankenfork the front end together with the funny buell lowers, or what?
|
|
# ? Jun 6, 2015 05:58 |
|
No, you buy a XBRR.
|
# ? Jun 6, 2015 06:31 |
So about the dollar value as buying ohlins forks for a japanese bike

Brake rotor looks normal for a bike that has seen the track with aggressive pads.

It seems like I keep hearing "My bike was overheating" more and more as an excuse for why people break traffic laws, and my brain is starting to automatically replace it with "gently caress it, I didn't want to wait."
