I guess all the editing he would do when making photo albums for people that were just slideshows with music.

Google Photos has made (100% without me doing anything but uploading my photo library)

Interactive stories.
Filtered photos.
Collages.
Animated gifs (from multiple similar photos)
Movies, with edits and soundtracks and filters..

It's pretty drat neat.

Ya, really, sure it can count all the messages in you inbox, but it can only show a '1' if you just want to display unread. I am also annoyed.

Pretty loving cool.

Mine seems to be doing dumb things like "collages" of my wedding with the same 3-4 people in each collage, an "animation" which did correctly identify multiple photos taken at the same spot but did not do any same point recognition and auto cropping to get rid of the shaky cam effect , or "enhancing" a photo by applying an Instagram filter onto it.

To be fair it hasn't uploaded my whole library yet.

MS removed the long swipes when they rebranded Accompli to Outlook.

Someone earlier wrote to initially let Google Photos upload on your computer if possible. I started ~9k photos a few days ago and it still isn't done. To be fair, I'm on my home MacBook about an hour and a half or so each night.

I can't imagine trying to get the process done on my phone.

Set auto off to never, make sure you're on wifi, plug it in, flip it over, go to sleep. I had like 4k and it was done in a night.

It seems to background sync when plugged in. Did about 1.5k photos from the phone overnight. Also uploaded about 3k photos from PC in a few hours.

It's a shame i can't get it to display my photos by folder, as i already have them all categorised as I like them.

I think that was me and it finished yesterday. Some movies didn't upload because of the obvious huge file size but the majority of it got through just fine.

Some of the time stamps are hosed which is weird because everything displays correctly on my iCloud Library.

I'll install on my iPad again and see if it tries to go through the upload or if it picks up that the library is already there.

I've heard good things, but I went with Pocket Casts since I used it back in my Android days. You'd probably be happy with either, but reviews should be able to sort that out for you.

Oh God, Google Photos can't tell that my iPad (or iPhone for that matter) library is the same library I uploaded from my Mac so when I signed in on my iPad it started uploading everything again.

EDIT: Actually I have no idea what the gently caress it's doing. It's going through every photo as if it was uploading but checking photos.google.com on a computer is not reflecting these additions.

EDIT: It does seem to be handling duplicates fine after it downloads the original to the device to make sure. So if you have a big rear end iCloud Library and want this poo poo on your phone it looks like you're going to have to go through downloading the entire loving thing on each device which seems kinda dumb but that's ~*the cloud *~

I want to set up a list of categories with an associated number of hours per week, and keep track as I allocate hours to each category as I go through the week. Like I'd have

project A - 10 hours
project B - 5 hours
project C - 5 hours
etc

and then if I logged an hour on project A it'd show '9 remaining/10 total' or whatever.

This sounds convoluted and weird as I'm reading it back, but its really simpler than I'm making it sound and I'm almost positive there's an app (or apps) that does this.
